Need Tips on playing Prussia

Hoi,

I've been playing this game for a few weeks now, but I'm still not understanding some things especially in the diplomacy section.

Most of the provinces i need to own to get my glory points belong to Poland or Austria.

I first tried being close friends to Poland by charming them. Their attitude towards me was as high as it could get (only my colour in the attitude circles). I guess they won't give me their provinces just as a gift, what do i have to do to friendly persuade them ?

I finally gave up being friendly and just made a coup (and it worked) but i lost all the provinces some time later (still no idea why)

Austria is my closest ally, but they aren't going to give me any provinces like that.
Do I have to wait until Austria is conquered and then defeat that nation to get those provinces?
I guess there's going to be an easier way ...

You can game the diplomacy system, as described by Ralegh -- do read his guides! -- and I recommend doing so once. You offer Turkey to respect their neutrality. In a 23 year scenario starting in 1805, I got Turkey to ally with both France and Spain and to promise to declare war on France's enemies.
