Downside of Rusians only using Engage order?

A brand new campaign-based 3D tactical engine covering combat in World War II, from the developers at Koios Works. The first operation covered is the famous "Wintergewitter" or Winter Storm, a desperate attempt by Hoth's 57th Panzer Korps to break through to the encircled 6th Armee at Stalingrad and the Soviet counter-attack by 2nd Guards Army that drove them back.

Downside of Rusians only using Engage order?

Post by Mobius »

Is there a downside for the Russians only using the Engage order 80-90% of the time?
It seems to do it all (except withdraw) and there is no 40 second delay penalty for changing order type.
If you micro manage you can move them full, half or just shoot. I guess the downside is that you have to micro manage.

Thoughts?

I tend to use the same commands for both armies when on the attack. Engage move until contact and then advance. I don't pay much attention to the delay.
