Termites... Steel-eating termites...

99,99% probability that she just had an upgrade.

That would probably be it. That is about the right amount of system damage from an upgrade.

Nowhere near. For the Lexington with a Durability of about 120 (IIRC) upgrade damage should be around 2 to 4 points of SYS. The only ships that should be receiving 14 points of damage from an upgrade are those with a DUR of 15 or less. Plus upgrades require the ship to be disbanded, they aren't triggered for ships in TFs.

My guess would be she got torpedoed by a Japanese sub.

Yes, the sys damage is much too high for a typical upgrade. However, that does raise a question for me. Is upgrade damage consistent or variable depending upon what is upgraded?

The only way to get to that level of sys damage in one turn though is through combat damage.

How exactly would a Japanese submarine have torpedoed a US carrier that's docked in port? Hmm? Tell me that, please...[8|]

T has a point here... no sub attacks near PH in for about a month now... not too mention Lady lex was "disbanded" at port for something like a week or so with no sys dmg... as I stated it occured as soon as I created the TF... it got this dmg as the only ship in it...

Well, IIRC the amount of sys damage a ship incurs is:

a. a random value
b. inversely proportional to the endurance of the ship, e.g. the higher the endurance, the less damage incurred. This is because big ships take so long to repair. No one would upgrade a BB if it took 14 points sys damage it would take 6 months at PH to return to operation.

I'm not saying its impossible that it is upgrade damage, just that it is highly improbable that a big ship will ever incur so much damage from an upgrade.

Frankly, I'm at a loss as to what it could be. Maybe Yava has been playing WitP after drinking beer again. [;)]

Why, that would be far too obvious and simple. [;)]

I bet you are the kind of guy that watches a horror movie and asks aloud, why did that girl just open the closet door to see if the serial killer actually IS hiding inside. [:'(]

Ok, maybe the date can help... it's 23 of January 1942, I just started another stock 15 after finishing the last one... I don't remember upgrades at that point of the war on my CV's last time...

Nope, Lexington doesn't upgrade until 3/42. Guess Yava missed an attack somewhere...
