Yef Alamanas

Post by Red2112 »

Hi all,

Ok, second night with COTA and with a very greatful help of Markshot and others, I think aim getting the grips on this. I did the tutorial #1 with axis this time around and got a marginal victory. The allies gave me a hard time, but I managed to hold on. I lost one unit and had to give up on two bridges, but it was worth it for the cause. I managed to blow up the main objective bridge, so that gave me some time. That also distracted them to head for the Komma bridge and break my lines and loss a unit. I cant get in to details because besides beeing a newbi, I dont know all the names yet [:D] I had a great time folkes, just sorry I have to send a regards letter to my KIA unit commander.

Here´s the inicial battle layout a bit after start:

Here´s the end of the battle:

I cant say aim learing this at a Ligioneri pace, but at a Regulars pace... Thanks for your kind help everyone [;)]

FYI

Mike,

I have played quite a few of the scenarios which come with COTA, but for some of the largest (my laptop runs them too slow).

I pretty much keep notes on every scenario I play (of course, the scenarios may change over time as the designers make changes to the scenario or the developers to the engine). In any case, you or anyone else is welcome to my personal scenario notes for particular scenario. Simply send me a PM with the name of the scenario/side and your own email address. Notes are in MS Word 2000 format. (HTTR scenario notes are in plain text files.)

Thank you Sir. I will keep this In mind. I need to get a print of the reference manual tomorrow (among others) to get to know better all the units, I cant wait [:)] Once I have that and understand all the units, what there for and what I can do with them, I can better understand your notes and take some myself. Thanks for the offer, your help is priceless! If you ever come to Spain, you will have a box of the best wine around waiting for you [:D]

Best regards,

Mike.

The manuals will not give you a break down on units and equipment.

The HTTR Strategy Guide will do that for HTTR.

For COTA, the best way to do this is use SM.EXE to view data from the Estab files. See Page 8 Post #216 of the Mini-Guide for an example of how to do this.

Wow, thanks again Marshot, that´s neat (sm.exe). I also downloaded the HTTR mini-guide. Nice maps on HTTR too, thanks.

Red...out.
