Well, you have to admit that it is quite counter-intuitive - logically, you would assume that the unit's air HQ is responsible for replacements, not the base's command HQ.

At least this provides us with a reason to assign bases to command HQs in the area. It's the only reason I know of to spend those PPs, though.

I actually moved more supplies to Ulithi yesterday...this is the base were the Southern Area Army HQ is based and
it had dropped below 20k supplies. Even though it is based thousands of miles away from the PIs, it still seems like all sub Air HQs of
the Southern Area Army HQ will not be able to provide ac/pilot replacements with less than 20k supplies unless their mother HQ got 20k supplies itself.

This may have explained a few things and thought me more about WitP logistics than I've learned over the last few years [;)]
Will count the hexes from Ulithi to Clark tomorrow!

Will consider moving Southern Area Army HQ to Manila.

Another quiet turn. Andy must be planning something really bad to give me more than a months
breathing space. That's all I need to revive my shattered Air Force and re-organize my Army.
Some 230 Oscar IIs arrived in reformed Sentais in Japan today. It's a must to have ca 30% Oscars
in any base defended by high quality interceptors as the enemy prefers easy pickings [;)]

Some 20 new frigates (PCs) have joined the Combined Fleet. They got a decent AA armament (120-160)
and will form ASW and anti PT boat squadrons. In an emergency they can be used to distract enemy
surface combat TFs by expending their OP points, fuel and ammo.

Most of our 50 destroyers, 20 cruisers and 10 battleships are now ready for action.
Need another 30-45 days to prepare the KB.

1000 days of war...and a serious bug

Post by PzB74 »

Take a look at this Hikotai; it was not in combat yesterday, but is still missing 15
crack pilots..... The same is the case with MOST of my air units, they're missing between
1 and 16 pilots all over the map without being in combat [X(]

First time this happened, and it happened suddenly and randomly? to most air units with a
mission, CAP, training etc.

Sent the turn to Joe Wilkerson. Needless to say, this is serious with a capital S.
Anyone experienced anything similar?

I think it is universal...I've been noticing this stuff with CHS at start but this may have been done on purpose.

I have sent some turns to Joe and he will take a look.
He says it may be something with the pilot array filling up.

Air losses:
19500 Allies
31500 Japan

This could be serious if you have run up against some sort of 32k limit.

Probably Japan loosing so many pilots in A2A that the pilot array got clogged [;)]

I'm the ultimate bug finder, always manage to dig something new up <G>
Confident that a fix will be found! Imagine a game were you still receive support years after it was released [&o]

According to Joe Wilkerson this can happen to any long term WitP games, so it's possible that this is an issue that
must be solved anyway.

Hope you work out the problem; I'm in April '44 in my PBEM as the Japanese, and 1) I need this AAR to keep my chin up [;)] and 2) I don't want to run into the same problem in the near future.

We're getting positive signals from Joe W. - may take a little time, but as earlier stated, I'm sure the Matrix guys will
get us back on track again! [8D] It's amazing to get such excellent support 3-4? years after WitP was released, but then again, WitP
has never been a plain game, has it? [&o]
