50000 japanese troops land in Darwin

Post by Arstavidios »

The Japanese landings have started in Darwin. I hope I will be able to fight them to a stanstill. Level 8 forts should help.
Thoses troops won't be there to block my advance against Rabaul. Moreover I cannow use the Australian forces without having to pay PPs.

Transports are moving towards Noumea. Gilli Gilli is now a level 4 port and airfield. New models of aircraft are arriving.

Darwin about to fall 1/17/1943

Post by Arstavidios »

The Japanese assaults have been reducing the forts level regularly. Now down to level 2.
I've ordered a retreat.

In Noumea the 8th US army is loading on transports for landings in New Britain. My aircraft are bombing enemy troopsin the area.

In India I will send the British corp and the 4th Aus division to reinforce NW Australia. Withe the two Aus divisions already there they will form the 12th British Army.

"Pink Elephant" which involved the British corp is thus postponed. The RN makes some bombardment runs on Akyab. A small Japanese raid is shot down by AVG on LRCAP. 4 P40E lost against 11 A6M2 and a few betties. No hits scored on my ships.

On the West coast the Essex and a bunch of CVEs are now ready. I'm assembling a troop and supply convoy. They will sail in a week or two.

New army OOB will be:

India:
1 Indian Army
1 chinese Army
Burma corp
East Indian coast corp

Australia:
12th Brithish Army
Australian cavalry corp

PNG Solomons:
8th US army
1st Australian Army

Cent PAC:
1st US Army
Island guard corp

North Pac:
Alaska defense corp.

Armies have 6 divisions worth of infantry plus supports.

Corps have 3 divisions worth of infantry plus supports.

The US Navy is currently supporting my moves in PNG.
I want to take advantage ofthe fact that the KB is committed in Darwin to push as far as possible.
Moreover the KB is at its peak and is still strong enough to sink my carriers which would seriously delay my moves. Also
I do not want to give up my own offensive moves to react to his. I want him to react to my own offensive.
If hedoesnot come back towards Rabaul soon with his fleet I'll be able  to advance a lot.Hehas nothing tostop me for the moment. His air force has closed shop and agood part of his army is having fun in Darwin. His fleet should bebach within a couple of weeks. And by that time the kiwis will start getting corsairs :)

I will launch a counterstrike in the Darwin area when the KB gets off the scene. I have plenty of time for that.

Darwin falls

Post by Arstavidios »

The 4th and 5th Australian divisions eventually scatter and join the rabbitsin the junngle. Meanwhile the vanguard of  the 8th US Army is sailing towards New Britain. They'd better get there before KB does.

In India the Btitish corp starts moving towards Karachi.

I'm reopenig Midway as a sub base.

I am activating barges In Gilli Gilli. Plenty of opportunities for small scale invasions in the area. LSTs are assigned to the marine corp.

A Japanese carrier division hits Wyndham and destroys afew planes there. I'm ordering reinforcements to Perth. Meanwhile the 8th Army keeps moving. By the time the KB comes back in the area I hope to have Kiwi corsairs CAPing Rabaul.

1st Australian army will use barges to advanceon the Northern coast of New Guinea.

A few eventful days 01/27/1943

Post by Arstavidios »

A lot happened overthe last few days.
Japanese took Wyndham. Some Japanese ground forces also reached PM. Meanwhile 2 american divisions landed unopposed in Gasmata and the heavies flattened Mandalay and Rabaul destroying over 1000 aircraft in the process.....

PM is secure. I outnumber Japanese forces almost 2:1. 2 more divisions and support will get there within 10 days.

In Gasmata I landed 2 divisions 2 EAB 2 seabees and a MAW unit. The airfield will be operational soon. The rest of the 8TH army is waiting aboard transports off New Caledonia.

Crimson is already a success andthe first phase is completed without opposition far ahead of schedule. The airfield in Gasmata will be operational just in time to recieve the first Corsairs :)

China is quiet. My forces are recovering slowly. Chinese bomber squadrons have recieved B25s.

In India I'm sending 4 divisions and some support units with the 12th british  army HQ to Australia. I will soon recieve an extra Indian division there.

I now need a couple of weeks to build my new bases and  bring troops and supplies forward. By that time KB should be back from its Australian venture. But I have enough airpower to counter that threat even without engaging my carriers.
