Hi!
While I'm quite looking forward to comments on my more conventional Fourth Republic Scenario, I continue work on my Bug Hunt Scenario.
I have taken a break from the map to start modding the counters.
Here's the Marine squad that you will command:
A few notes:
The counters with the red in the corners indicates a guy who must survive the scenario. If he is killed, it's instant game over, such as the Sargent and the Medic (with the red cross symbol) shown here. There are a couple others that must survive as well.. as the scenario plays out, you will run into them.
The dude with the "grenade" symbol is a mech.. think "dreadnought."
Have a whole list of other players to mod.. base security (including "Demi Obezynia" [;)]), Scientists, and general worker bees, plus of course, the bugs.
I also have a couple counters I will be using for doors and stuff that will need to be modded. The gray fortification counter is actually a door. [:D]
Each individual, in general, is constructed such that I will be able to generate a .bmp image of the guy .. or bug (whatever the case). So in the right hand corner when you select the sargent, you will see one "jarhead". When you select a private it will be a different one.. etc... etc...
Lots of image modding going on here. In fact, so far this scenario contains 16 modified .bmp files and I expect that to at least double.
Seems strange, but I've trial play tested a small portion, and it seems to work.
I'm looking at doing some "conversation" scripting as well (based on events) via the news, want the game to be PBEM capable and flexible enough to be able to be played a variety of different ways (as far as pathing goes).
I know the scenario sounds like its' a bit simplistic, but nothing could be farther from the truth. I'm putting every bit of my designing skills to the test here, learning lots of stuff as I go, and hopefully will produce a quality scenario.
