About the release

Post by IKerensky »

I guess this game will be released by matrix wich is a good thing or I hope so ...

Let me explain myself:

The vast majority of ToS fan are european ( bring on the game by mechforce ). The game developper are deutch ( rigth ? ).
But Matrix have heavy shipping cost for Europe so perhaps we should think about his distribution now ? so we wont have to pay 50$ to FedEx for our game

Will there still be a possibility of a download for the game? I've found the online versions of software to be far more up-to-date and bug fixed than anything I've found off a shelf or on a cd. And when it comes to updates, *nobody* can beat Larkin! I remember a time when he was putting out two new versions a week!

I can understand if the new graphics and music shoot the main software up to 50+ megs, but I would still love to download new battle modules, graphics, and music mods as smaller packages over the net. (And with a cable modem and Flashget, I can download 50 megs in 10 minutes! :-)

Um, time pass.

Release will come sooner and sooner...

I am more and more anxious about being able to get this game at an affordable price here in France.

Please answer, what will be the release policy ?

Take your heart in both hands and write David Heath of Matrixgames and tell him about your concerns. I checked their oversea charges and was well astonished to see the big price FedEx is adding to the normal product prize. But I'm in NO position to change this. I know that Matrixgames is trying to build contacts to local dealers of Board/RPG/Wargaming shops. Don't know whats the status on that. I guess that Davids is a busy man who can't read every topic on his forums but I also think you will get an answer.

Well , I fully understand your position.
In fact , I tried myself to make some shop I know to import products, to no avail , alas.
My point is that you have a contract with Matrix, so perhaps you can handle stocking CDs and send them. I guess this will erally down the sending cost, ( because Matrix can send you a bunch for cheap, and we will only have to pay the price for special package from your place to other place in Europe, did you see what I mean.

This is something only Fed Ex can answer. I do know that matrix games is not idle in trying to meet the concerns of its customers.

Hell, I'd download even 250 MBs to get ToS2.
(And I only have ISDN)

OK , i have the answer,
I talk about Matrix games to Duchet Computer in UK ( www.duchet.com ) and they obviously get to an agreement to import their games there, so that will permit to all the french and uk people to get all the matrix games at the better price.

Great thanks Matrix, great thanks Duchet
