Looking for experienced opponent, NikMod

Post by erstad »

One of my PBEM opponents had to drop a game, for legitimate reasons, and so I'm looking to start another.

I've only played stock, but would like to give NikMod a try. UberCAP gets old after a while. I've been in about eight PBEMs, so looking for someone with some experience to make a fair matchup. There's a current AAR, "Aztez (Allies) vs Erstad (Japan)" if you want to get some sense of my play; I haven't been allowed in since the early days so I don't know exactly what's being said, but I hope it's all good! [;)]

I can generally commit to 5+ turns a week. I'll usually get a turn out each day, but I don't want to feel like scum when RL intervenes.

I'll play either side, slight leaning towards Allies because I've done the Japan thing more, but doesn't really matter.
Strong preferences:
Multi-day turns (probably 2, but I'd entertain 3)
PDU off
No overstacking airbases.
Units pay PP to leave restricted commands
"Reasonable" restrictions on turn 1

If I'm Japan I'd like to have animations and combat reports off so I can run turns unattended. If you're Japan, I don't care.

General style: Not as interested in fighting big land wars in India/China/Russia. If you play Japan and your style is to try to take out India or Chungking or Russia, we're probably not a good fit. I won't invade Russia. I'll try to kick some Chinese butt, but only to remove them as a later threat.

I don't use exploits or gamey tactics, with one debatable exception. I do train pilots as Japan, including the "bombing an empty base" technique. If you are Japan, you're free to do the same.

Open to other house rules.

I can vouch for his skills (He is very skilled and experienced opponent) and reliability.

It has been great fun to go againts Erstad and who ever your opponent is I can say that you will have your hands full! [;)] Ask Feinder if you don't believe me. [:D]

Our game has been very enjoyable (Currently in October 1943) and it is getting to the timeline where I can payback the early days.... [:'(]
