Philippines
I am pounding Manila with my bombers. I am using my air power while I have it. My assault @ Manila took severe casualties - LCUs have moved back to Clark to lick their wounds and regroup. I want to build the FO to 100% also.

Malaya
I own Malaya except for Singapore. I'm pounding that with LBs too - hard! I expect to make a push here but am impatiently waiting to get my Future Objective rating up to 100% I've got plenty of support - both ENG AV plus HQ so when I go in I hope be bad-to-the-bone. I'm guessing it'll be about two more weeks for that.

Burma/India
This place sucks. It takes my troops weeks to move a hex. I sure wish I knew why... They'll march 2 miles one day, 5 miles the next, and then 4 and then drop back down to 2 - very frustrating.

China
I've been marching to Yenen since January. Some of my troops just crossed the river on 2-24-42. Wow... Darren has (from what I can tell) 120k of troops @ Yenen. When I started marching he had about 20k of troops. If I start my troops to marching back home they might make it by the end of 1942... The most frustrating part of this game for me has been my LCUs and their inability to do even 10 miles per day...

And so we were dropping of some grunts @ Mersing - you know - for the invasion thrust @ Singapore? And we come across the BB Canada. Man, we had that bad boy sur-freaking-rounded! We shot the crap out of that BB. The DDs did most of the work - you could see 'em lighting up that bad boy from shore I bet!. It was like a Turkey-shoot! We must have hit the BB Canada at least 60 times - we spanked them hard! That'll teach them Brits not to mess with our Japanese Merchant Fleet!

NOTES from the Imperial Ministry of Propaganda: while it is extrememly doubtful that the Merchant ships and their Destroyer escorts did much damage to the BB Canada, it is a great story to share with the public and it's ab-so-lutly true!

I should point out the Canada set sail with a speed of 0kts and close to 90 or 95% system damaged. As most of the systems had repaired I decided to see if it could fight like that so sent it against a suspected troop convoy. You know, sit in the water (being towed at 1 kt) and fire those main guns at the defencless convoy.

I am running a Iron Storm II PBEM game as Jap (now in Feb 1942) and have a question regarding engine production.

I am producing all types of engines but I am not getting any accumulation of late war type engines. Why? Every thing else seems to be ok. Do you have the same problem? Could the jap player please show his engine production figures?

It's a timing function - within the database I think. Judy's will be coming out shortly for us - April I think. Planes that require the advanced engines don't come out for another year or so.

So what did you do for your opening turn? Just curious... And how do you like this mod? I think it's the coolest thing since sliced cheese <GRIN>.

So the time line is 3-6-42 now.

I finally took Amboina. Walkerd is still flying B-17s over to lemme know he disaproves of me taking that base. I need to get som AAA over there and see if I can bag a few of those.

I'm also running a bombardment campaign to see how fast I can smash down the troops @ Manila. Bombers, BBs and CAs, and lotsa LCUs should let me run over them. I'm thinking that in 10 more turns my LCUs go in to say hi.

Enemy AAA is forcing me to increase production much higher than I like.

Carriers will be fun tho - I have lotsa those - I just need to find out where he's keeping his carriers and arrange a meeting - lol.

I've been playing with the ASW TFs I have. APDs are pretty cool - lotsa depth charge launchers on those bad boyz. They just seem to have a damned hard time "finding" his subs. SONAR will be nice - I just have to wait a while. Until then I'm gunna try to improve my odds through better management - I'm gunna look for some TF commanders with good stats. Anyone know what stats I'm looking for in an ASW TF Commander? I'm thinking aggressiveness might be the prime one but I'll flip through the pages of the manual and see if I can find anything on the subject.

Time passes and still things are slow. 1Eyedjacks has mentioned his next big attack is Manila and Singapore. Singapore is a level 9 fort, acros a river, has over 2000AV and 25,000 supply. I expect to hold out for months. Or at least I hope to....lol

As for Manila supply is low and I noticed the bombing is actual affecting the AV, some units are not repairing or repaing slowly Time will tell and I expect this to be the next major attack.

The rest of the world is quiet.

The enemy task forces attacking Singapore move south to Palembang and I loose more transports.

Several times now I have made attacks on the Jap CV’s. My heart enters my mouth and I pray for a lucky hit. So far no such luck, but I only need to be lucky once.

SOme of the bomber forces on the regular bombing of Singapore. Since the bombing campaign started I have lost something like 16,000 supply and have started to notice significant drop in AV and cohesion.

1Eyedjacks brought his CV's close into Singapore and then Palembang. While I never hit anything I only need to be lucky once. In fact in my other game as Japan I had a CV hit by a search plane. While not a large bomb there is no CAP in the Search Routine.[:(]

The game has slowed down for several weeks now. Bombardment and softening up of Singaproe and Manila. This is the limit of Jap expansion for the end of March 1942.

1Eyedjacks has started to be more aggresive and after his foray toward Pontiak I decide to place SAG near the front. These are older Britsh BB's. Their speed means they need to be close to the front to react. I then have a clever plan (my lord).
