All I know is that I've heard rumours that the A2A model is getting revamped. I hope so. This was just another sad example with no Japanese planes making it through the CAP! LOL Hopefully we get some sort of patch before it ruins any CV battles in my games.
To be fair Ron this game started with well over a year ago. The KB was a mighty power earlier with nothing penetrating it CAP and so what goes around comes around you could say.
As for fun... the game is still ok and FDR is putting up stubborn defenses all over the map. I can guarantee that Philippines, Marianas and Okinawa are fortified hugely.
Had I not spotted those Japanese CV's early enough than I would have been bombed to dust. Also FDR splitted his CV's in half... other concentrated on Marshalls and the other was heading towards my fleet. (That was not a wise move on hindsight allthough it was a bold move if he would have been undetected).
As FDR said he took a huge gamble with splitting his CV's and going forwards without LBA umbrella. Had he actually attacked when I went for Truk few weeks back than the outcome would have been totally diffrent. (I took a gamble there and it paid off)
To be honest Witp will never be a perfect and finished game... and to do restart everytime something changes or something goes wrong means that you will never complete any PBEM's. [:(] That is sad but true.
I can guarantee that this game will see the end though. We have every intention to fight it out with everything we got.
Good to see you will continue to the bitter end , I think my 2 games with Joe and 2ndACR will continue to the end too. Way too many people give up/surrender/vanish when things go bad. Personally i feel very lucky to have 2 such stout opponents.
Good luck and yes this dratted cold/flu has finally started to diminish ( been 12 ^%^&*&^ days of this so far)..
sorry for the spelling . English is my main language , I just can't type . and i'm too lazy to edit
Thanx Sneer and Rob. I will do my best to more headaches to FDR. [;)]
Hmpf, it would nice to know how many hours have gone into this one... my estimate is +200 hours so far... [:(] ...I'am glad that my wife does not know this! [:D][:D]

...it is taking a longtime to kick those stubborn Japanese out of Moulmein. The only good news is that there is now "only" 120 000 enemy troops defending the base. So, the numbers are dropping steadily.
RAF has pretty much its whole bomber fleet attacking the base daily. There are Royal Navy bombardments made every turn too. (He should be out of supplies but it does not seem that way though.)
Japanese Battle Fleet is also spotted. It seems that enemy BB's are sailing in Malacca strait. (I have an submarine shadowing this enemy TF so I don't know whether FDR knows this [;)])

The odd news is that CV Akagi is not yet confirmed sunk. The carrier was hit severely near Marshalls in earlier action.
I'am moving more troops into Kwaleijin before launching the final assault. Those enemy troops are stubborn. (1 Infantry division + 1 Tank division)
Otherwise I'am moving supplies around. Allied CV's are refitting their fuel tanks and fighters.
Soon the offensive will continue here. There are couple of intresting targets in my mind.
This show is back on the road again...

Crikey .. moulmein is taking some time. the forts are heading in the right direction mind you [:D]. I'm struggling vs japan in burma . trying to get the enemy shifted can be a royal pain in the backside.
Good to see he hasn't stuffed a million men on kwajalein. are you house ruling max inf for atoll hexes ?
as ever, nice to see you back and good luck

I have been somewhat busy lately IRL. So has FDR so this PBEM was slowed down a bit but are back on track again. Also, I felt somewhat "bored" with the Witp for a while so that has slowed down the post too. [:(] I did also try the new icehockey manager EHM2007 (which is actually quite good if you like the sport but damn hard too)
Anyway. There is no houserule regarding Kwaleijin or any other atoll in that matter. I think FDR decieded not to reinforce Marshalls when we agreed on the ceasefire. There is 1 IJA division and 1 Tank division there currently and those are causing me a lot of harm.
Yeah Moulmein has been one bloody battle. FDR has now less than 120 000 men there (36 units in total) and forts are reducing steadily now. As said once this base is overrun I will move 5-6 divisions to there from India and continue the push towards Tavoy. A lot of those allied ground troops in Moulmein currently are in really bad shape (but so are the enemy divisions). Thankfully most of the British and US tank units are battle ready.
I don't know what Tavoy holds but there are 8 enemy units there. Propably most of them are ground supporting units.
Next turn another assault is scheduled in Moulmein and Kwaleijin. (The bombardment assaults went fine last turn)
There is 4 B29 squadrons at Chungking too. These beasts will visit mainland Japan next turn. After that they will be moved into India/Burma theatre to support the ongoing offensive.

Update on this AAR too.
We should continue this PBEM with FDR on the 1st week of January 2007. He has been busy with work as basically it has been hectic for me too.
Merry Christmas to all the readers.
This PBEM has been green light by FDR.
The bad news is that I propably have forgotten at least 80% of the plans I had. [:(]
Looking back the last turn we did was nearly 3 months ago.
It really feels good to get this ongoing again.
I will post the "scoreboard" when the turn arrives.
