Report of March 15th , 1942
Cent Pac
A Base Force unloaded and occupied Abemama. It’s another small atoll that will become a small air base.
DEI
9 Nells attacked and sunk with 2 torpedoes one AK at Kai I. while unloading supplies. I suppose Kai is growing every week. It will be though to get it.
I don’t understand why my bombers didn’t attack the ships in Sabang today. The weather was well and I had no problems with supplies. For tomorrow the forecast is thunderstorm, so the enemy ships will probably leave.
Philippines
The troops coming from Naga arrived in Manila. Tomorrow they will attack the capital city.
It’s a lot of time that Chuck doesn’t send supplies to Luzon. I have no idea how many supplies he’s disposing but anyway my blockade of the sea lanes seems working.
I have intercepted I think at least three AK directed towards Luzon.
Burma
The 55. Infantry Division reached Rangoon and will occupy her tomorrow.
Malaya
Chuck is doing a lot of recon over my bases in Malaya. I suppose that is planning some raids, maybe with troops transported by SS. I dispose of 2 tank rgt in Mersing and in Johore. I’ve decided to move them all around, to make a bit confusion for his recon. With some luck, he will spot a tank regiement today in Kuala and in two days in Johore and so on. I have some const bns or base forces in every bases, but with an assault strenght of 2 or 3 if he lands with two or three subs they will maybe not be enough to hold.

Report of March 16th , 1942
Philippines
My naval blockade of Luzon worked again. Nell based in Luzon sunk an AK, W of Bataan.
Despite the reinforcements, the delib attack against Manila failed. I’ve lost 2342 men, vs 1635 allied. Odds were 0:1. At least Chuck burst a lot of supplies to repulse the assault.
Burma
As announced, Rangoon falled today. The 55. Inf will rest a bit, wait for the Imperial Division and for the establishment of the airbase. After that they will march towards Akyab

Malaya
Nothing special happened today. Only the delib attack against Singapore that failed. But, at least the casualties of the allies have been 2374, vs 1333 of japs. But his result force me to wait at least a week before attacking again.
So Pac
The KB is now south of Pago-Pago. She will head to east while some recon planes will fly over the enemy base to identify enemy units there. I didn’t encountered enemy ships.
Philippines
I’m loosing a lot of time in Manila. For this reason I’ve decided to send the 16. Inf Division to help.

SW Pac
CA Australia led 4 CL shelling Lunga. 1 Alf destroyed and I suffered 275 casualties. Strange the enemy ships didn’t attack my AK unloading in the bay.
Sumatra
Finally my Nell decided to attack and sunk one AK at Sabang, but I supposed that the ship unloaded already the supplies or whatever she had aboard.
Another AK has been damaged SW of Singapore.
Malaya
The 6. Tank Rgt arrived in Kuala Lumpur. I’ve decided to move also the 2. Tank Rgt from Singapore to Johore. I know that assault strength will drop, but I’m worried by the recon planes of Chuck and his sub’s transported troops.
So Pac
KB found no enemy ships and is now forced to move north to refuel.
China
27 enemy units are marching towards Nanchang. They are really scaring. I’m bombing them every day with all available planes to try to slow them.

Nell based in Amboina sunk an AK at Kai I.
Singapore
Another AK sunk in Singapore harbor, while the british airport it’s probably closed.
Malaya
Intel warned my about an allied secret operation (Chuck’s mail), and, in fact, some paras have been dropped over Johore Bahru but didn’t succed to occupy the base.
I have one tank rgt in Mersing that is now ordered to move there to help the defense, and the 2. tank regiment in Singapore will do the same.
Japan
CV Junyo, after partecipating to operation Nordic Light, is now in Tokyo. She will refuel and then sail to Truk, when she will take the place of Kaga, that now is at sys dam 11 and need a bit of rest.

So Pac
Three out of six carriers of KB attacked Pago-Pago afld today. I’ve lost 8 Val and 1 Kate, in exchange of 13 Aircorbra. This is really not a great result. Too much losses.
The good new is that the recon spotted 2600 men on the island. I’m prepping SSD for the operation but I have to wait the some replacements arrive in Canton I.
Malaya
More para have been dropped over Johore and the city falled in the afternoon. I hope the two tank regiments will arrive soon, but while the 14. Tank Regiment is half way from Mersing, the 2. Tank Regiment is still in Singapore. I’m moving also the 6. Tank Regiment from Kuala to help.

The situation is getting worse. Chuck reinforced Johore Bahru with more troops. Two indian brigades arrived. I suppose one is coming back from Singapore. I’m waiting my tank regiments will arrive. Meanwhile I’ll try a shock attack against Singapore. If Chuck moved one or maybe two infantry bde from there, he will be weaker.

Malaya
While the fighting is continuing in Johore, my shock attack in Singapore reduced the fort of two level, from 4 to 2. I will attack again tomorrow, because disruption and fatigue levels are not high.
My 14th tank regiment in Johore is holding the position, also if the city is fallen yesterday. The 35. Infantry Brigade, loading in Kuching for Pontianak, will be diverted to Malaya, to solve the situation.

Report of March 23rd , 1942
Malaya
This is a crucial day. Chuck send all the planes that he has against my troops attacking in Singapore, but the fort came down to 0! I’ve lost near 5000 men in two days, while the brits lost around 3000.
While in Singapore I’m approaching to a great and unexpected victory, the 14. Tank Regiment has been repulsed from Johore.
Now my troops in Singapore should rest. But I want to launch the decisive attack tomorrow. If it failed I’ll have to wait about a week, but if I win I will save a lot of men and time. I don’t want to wait!! I need a lot of luck now.
The 35. Inf Bde will sail from Kuching tonight, directed to Mersing at full speed.
DEI
The allied subs are becoming more and more aggressive. Yesterday two merchant ships damaged, today one sunk in front of Manila.
North Pac
The end part of Operation Nordic Light is started, with the landing in Ogliula. Meanwhile reinforcements have already arrived in Attu, Kiska, Adak and Atka.
5th Fighter Sentai, equipped with Oscar is now combat ready in Kiska but will move to Adak, to defend the island from B-25’s attacks.
SW Pac
Another allied SS, an american, received one hit at Lunga, by one of the DD escorting the reinforcements for Guadalcanal.
Betty taking-off from Lae sunk one allied AK unloading in PM.
China
A great air battle occurred in the sky above the chinese marching towards Nanchang. I’ve lost 4 Nate, 2 Sonia and 1 Sally, and the allied lost 3 P-39 and 1 P-40.
Borneo
18. Avn Rgt will arrive tomorrow in Balikpapan. I will finally open the afld.
So Pac
KB has refuelled and will now return to the Samoa area to support the invasion. SSD will in fact try to land there.

RE: East Wind Rain
Report of March 24th , 1942
SW Pac
A great naval disaster occurred at Lunga. 3 DD lost in one day!
The enemy CA/CL TF that shelled the island days ago returned and sunk DD Murakumo, DD Minazuki and 2 AP that were unloading the 4th Nav Const Bn. I suffered 1187 casualties.
In plus, DD Hayate, damaged yesterday by an enemy SS, sunk today north of Guadalcanal.
Lunga afld is building and in a day or two should be at 1 size.
In exchange I have only my Betty hitting with 2 torpedoes one AK in PM.
Malaya/Sumatra
My planes attacked Bankha afld, on Sumatra, destroying 3 a/c on the ground and loosing 1 Sally.
Better results encountered 48 Nell bombing Palembang afld. 7 enemy planes destroyed and I suffered the damaging of 10 Nell.
My troops in Singapore refused to attack. Maybe I forgot to give the order? I will try to attack tomorrow.
China
Other air battles, during which I lost 3 Nate, 1 Helen and 3 Sonia, while Chuck lost only 1 P-40.
I trasnferred 87 more Lily bombers to Shangai to bomb the advancing troops towards Nanchang.
North Pac
While my troops occupied Ogliula I., 5 B-25 have been damaged over Adak by my Oscar on CAP. An enemy TF is spotted W of Dutch Harbor. It’s maybe composed by the same ships that attacked days ago. I will retreat the trasnport unloading in the different islands.
I set the Oscar based in Adak to naval attack. It’s the first time that I try it. We’ll see what a 30 kg’s bomb can do.
Philippines
A shock attack reduced the fort to 0. The losses are heavy: 3645 japs vs 2038 allied. But the next time Manila will fall. It should be for the end of the month.
South Pac
CV Junyo arrived in Truk but will not join KB. She will not join the KB. She will instead wait for KB there. I’ve decided to retire the KB from South Pac and send her to Borneo/DEI/Malaya area to help the operations. I noted that Chuck is sending a lot of ships to Sumatra. Probably a lot of troops. KB will send all ships in the area at the bottom.
Canton will be soon a 4-size afld and will be very dangerous for enemy carriers to attack the atoll. Invasion of Samoa is postponed. Priority now to the SEA.
DEI
Amboina has now an air support of 313 and is building to 5 size. The base is now the most important airbase of the area.

The Fall of Singapore!!
Report of March 25th , 1942
DEI
The bad days for my destroyers are continuing. DD Shirayuki took one torpedo north of the Celebes launched by a dutch SS.
Sumatra/Malaya
In Palembang I lost 5 Nell and 4 Sally, while the allied lost only 4 planes.
The convoy transporting the 35. Inf Bde is approching to Mersing. Enemy planes tried to sunk some of the transport by Zero made a good guard. 2 Zero lost in exchange of 8 allied planes.
China
4 Nate, 3 Sonia, 2 Sally vs 1 P-39
India
My Betty taking-off from Rangoo attacked Calcutta afld, destroying 3 Hurricane. 1 Zero on escort lost.
Singapore
General Yamashira, the Tiger of Malaya, launch an extraordinary attack against Singapore, conquering the british fortress!!! 70128 allied soldiers have been captured and this cost me today only 4030 men. In Singapore I found only 7150 supplies but 119000 tons of fuel.
Now I can close the match in Johore. I ordered to the 21. Mix Bde to move north. Together with the 35. Inf Bde that will land in Mersing, the forces should be enough to occupy the whole Malaya.

Report of March 27th , 1942
Malaya
TF Nagato shelled Johore, killing 777 allied soldiers.
My troops coming from Singapore crossed the Johore Strait and shock attacked. Obviously they are still very tired because of the Battle of Singapore and the attack failed, but the losses were minimal.
Sumatra
176 bombers attacked Palembang airport, destroying 5 planes on the ground. Only 1 Sally shot down. I think the enemy afld is near to be closed, due to the damages, but anyway 10 Martin 139 attacked again TF Nagato. No hits this time and 7 Martin damaged. The Zero’s CAP was useful.
China
My air losses in the sky near Nanchang are too heavy now. Nate fighters proved again to be a ****. I can no more send my bombers unescorted over the enemy troops, (flying with Nate is the same as being unescorted).
My three Mongolian cavalry divisions forced the chinese to abandon Tabun-Nur and to retreat towards Oboto.
South Pac
Because the situation in the SEA is now quiet, I’ve decided to retain KB in SW/SO Pac area. The carriers are anyway heading back to Truk, because they need some days of rest.

Chuck is trying to evacuate all the available ships that he has in Manila. My planes sunk 1 AP and hit 1 PG, 1 AS and 1 AK.
The shock attack against Manila reduced, again, the fort to 0. I have to wait until the end of the month before occuping the capita.

I-17, who torpedoed a DMS yesterday, sunk an MSW today. Well done captain!
Borneo
6 allied PTM sunk an AK in Balikpapan harbor. Another AK received 1 torpedo by enemy planes coming from Bandjermasin

At Yangku I still have 3 chinese units that are blocking my flow of supplies. I’ve decided to move some units from Paotang and Peking to finish them. I think they are blocking also the supplies for the troops that are seizing Yenan.
Philippines
Today my troops will attack. I hope this is the day that Manila will be liberated by colonialist tiranny.

One of my Sally hit CL Sumatra in Palembang. The damage are unknown but I hope that this bomb will keep out of action the cruiser for a while.
Philippines
Bad surprise in Manila. My troops shock attacked and reduced the fort to 0! Again! The allied engineers really work.
China
250’000 chinese soldiers arrived in Nanchang and bombarded the city. They have an assault value of 7900 while I have only 2000. I think I should evacuate the city but I have to think a little bit where to go. Anyway I’m preparing to garrison all the troops in the area in Shangai.
For the moment I transfer most of the 50’000 tons of fuel that are in Wenchow. I moved also all the available aircraft to Hankow.
In Hankow I have also ordered to 3 infantry divisions and 1 brigade plus other support troops to move towards Changsha. I spotted 15 enemy units south of the Yangtze river and I’m intentioned to stop them before they cross.

RE: The Fall of Singapore!!
Report of April 1st , 1942
SW Pac
The month start with an heavy bombardement against Lae. 52 bombers escorte by 103 fighters. I really didn’t expected such a great air force. I lost 21 Zero and I shot down 17 enemy fighters. At least the damages in Lae have been minimal.
Anyway I’ve decided to evacuate the base and move all to Rabaul. I moved also a lot of bombers there and I’ll start tomorrow a bombardement campaign against PM.
DEI
A small invasion fleet escorted by a lone DD reached Pomala undetected and begun to unload troops. In the morning, however, allied air force noted the small TF and attacked her, hitting with one bomb DD Shikinami.
Tonight other troops will load onto ships in Balikpapan, and will be trasnported to land in Makassar.
Indian Ocean
Nell based in Victoria Point sunk another AK in Port Blair.

As planned, 60 enemy bombers, escorted by 59 fighters, attacked the evacuated Lae. The damages have been minimal.
50 Betty and 12 Nell, escorted by 19 Zero bombed PM, destroying only 2 enemy fighters and doing little damages too. I expected much more.

SBD and TBD, probably coming from the damaged US carrier, attacked my ships in Pomala, damaging 1 DD and sinking 2 AP.
Anyway my troops captured Pomala in the afternoon.
