Newbie question here; I like to screenshot games so I can take a look at the maps and draw pretty lines in the paintbox while planning a campaign......I usually use PRNT SCRN but this doesn't seem to be working. I've noticed that lots of players here have screenshotted - so my question is - How Please?!

RE: Screenshots
PrintScreen should work. If you have a keyboard with additional system buttons you may need to hit the F-Key button to ensure the standard F Keys work. Well that's how my Logiteck keyboard works anyway.
RE: Screenshots
PRT-SCRN will capture it to the Window's clip board. Then, paste it into your favorite graphic program. If you have nothing, then you could always use Windows Paint which should be installed by default. Then, save as a JPG.
There you go!

I do something more or less similar. If you want to get fancy, there are screen capture programs that run around in background and with just hitting a key will capture and save the screen to a file (without taking your mind off the game).

RE: Screenshots
How about adding screenshot feature to the game itself? Example each time you press let's say F12, JPEG screenshot is saved to root directory. This would be helpful when you are making long AARs and it's saving time too.

RE: Screenshots
Utilities such as snag it, etc. already do this, so it would be better, IMO to spend time on the game itself. Just my 2c...

El Savior,
I appreciate what you are saying, but I have to agree with WhiteOwl. BTW I did all the sceen shots for the manual using the Print Screen button and saving to PaintShopPro.

Also one day in the future when you guys have convinced thousands of your mates to buy the game and we have enough money to employ several programmers we can add a full editable recording that will play back the game as it unfolded, order by order, shot by shot and over which you can layer text and other graphics. Now that would be cool. [8D]

I know - Zeus knows we tried to make him change his ways, but it's no use [;)]. Personally I use a home-made little program that captures the screen and auto-saves as a jpg with a sequential filename. The hotkey is the unused pause/break key. Even works in dual-screen mode.

1 What is a sock?
Well, given your age you probably know it under it's Old English form of 'socc' - it's a piece of garment that makes your feet grow cold if you forget to put them on.

2 Why are my feet so cold?
Literally or figut, figi, damn, lost my English spelling as well - must be catchy [;)]

If you aren't now, it's because you lost those 10 centimes way back when

Well, one of the nice things for me any way is that I am the boss. Thus, I've managed to have a good deal of flexibility in my schedule for beta stuff when the business is slow. (not so good for income though) However, when my wife comes by even a business owner/beta tester needs to answer to a higher authority.

Well, the key (boss key) for hiding the game has to be renamed to "wife" key, in your case.
