Fire Brigade?

Post by Grah31 »

Had a strange thing happen last night. I had a light Titan knocked over in a burning forest hex. One of the AI’s kept on plastering him with SRM4s and knocking him back down. Then the engine shutdown and he kept on getting hotter and hotter. There was little I could do except draw off the SRM titan but before I could do that it launched another volley of SRM’s one of which missed but appeared to put the forest fire out! I thought that maybe the forest had been burned up but a little later it was set on fire again. Is this a programmed event? – explosive weapons can extinguish fires by their blast? Or did the dense forest burn down, go out by itself and the new ‘scrub’ then get set on fire? I have no problem with it. Its a neat effect if done that way. Just curious.

Missile weapons have a chance to reduce dense woods to light. When that happens, fires are extinguished. In your case the light woods were then lit again.

All missile racks with 5 or more missiles have a chance to reduce dense woods, be they burning or not. If they are burning, they will be put out. Thus, SRM4s and GM3 are incapable of reducing woods.

WS will use hit points for calculation so it will no longer be based on luck or limited on rack size. You still have to use non-napalm missiles.

Unfortunately, at the moment, I don't have a connection at home. I interact with this forum in free time at work so I can only go against the AI. Some day I'll get set up again and then I would give it a try. Thanks for the offer.
