RHS EOS 5.10 Japanese Opponent sought

Post by Nemo121 »

Hi,

I'm interested in seeing if there is someone willing to play an RHS EOS 5.1 ( when it comes out) PBEM. I am interested in playing the Allied side under pretty much the same rules as I'm already going to be playing the Japanese side.

House Rules:
1. Since Aden is on-map it is fair to teleport from west coast to aden since you then have to ship into Karachi.

2. Russia becomes active in terms of being able to launch offensive missions in mid-43. ( Ideally either January 1st or June 1st). If the Japanese want to attack sooner then they can do so with no warning ( since the Soviets are active anyways and can therefore redeploy at will).

3. For every 1000 AV the Kwantung Army falls below the Soviet activation level the Soviets get to activate 1 month earlier ( this allows the Japanese player to balance his need for troops in SRA NOW with the need to keep the Soviets out of the war for as long as possible).

4. Only 1 port attack on Day 1 and no ambushing of Allied TFs already at sea.

5. Nothing is off-limits except for Aden. If you want to take all of China, Oz, Soviet Union and India then be my guest.

6. As the Japanese player you are not expected to conform to any sort of pre-war plan. Just because the Japanese would have done it doesn't mean you have to. If you want to bypass the Phillipines then be my guest. It is my job to make you pay for that. Putting in rules to force certain patterns of behaviour does, IMO, stifle creativity.

7. Since pretty much everyone views landing on the west coast of Malaysia or anywhere on Java/Sumatra on Day 1 as a big no-no (although I've done all three prior to knowing that they were viewed as being so unfair) I have undertaken not to land there on turn 1 when I play Japan. So, since mirror rules apply landings there are banned on Day 1. All's fair in love and war on Day 2 though. Ideally though Jap fleets wouldn't move west past a line running roughly from Singapore to Singkaweng to Kendari to on day 1 as that's the line I've agreed to stay east of and I think my best chance of these rules being seen as fair is to keep them as close to the rules I've accepted in my game as Japan as possible.

8. No limits on PT boat fleets. I don't intend to go crazy with them.

9. The Japanese have a good level bomber in the Me-264 so since they can match Allied capabilities in this area now there's no need for a limit on Allied naval level bomber attacks.

10. PDUs ON, Historical first turn OFF, sub doctrine OFF, Surprise ON,

11. If the situation looks hopeless for either player OR real life intervenes it is fine to let go of the reins so long as the password is provided to anyone else who wants to take over the reins. That goes for either side.

12. I can do a turn a day on weekdays and more on weekends. I'm at GMT +0000 so someone in Europe would be nice but not essential.

Ideally I'd like to play a real JFB as I'd like to play someone who knows how to wield KB, the IJA etc so that they can push the Allies to the limit. If you have any questions or there's something I've forgotten to mention please post here. If you'd like to play please PM me.

Well, that's that settled then.
