Supply not unloading during invasion....

Post by castor troy »

Anyone experienced this??? In my PBEM against Przemcio I´m invading Canton as the Japanese. I´m unloading three divisions but even if I have a TF of AKs loaded with supplies that has been saying "unloading" for two turns now, not a single supply was unloaded and my troops get terrible hit by the troops that are garrisoned on Canton...

From time to time I really wonder why I still play this game...

Just venting a bit...

Have you double checked to make sure the TF is not set for "do not unload"? If it is it will say "unloading" but will not unload anything. That's about all I can think of. I haven't had that problem yet.

Somewhat in the same category, I have ships ordered to load resources and they do until about 66% full then start unloading automatically. Nothing is left to the AI. There is oil in the ports in question so it is not this weird bug but maybe another bug or undocumented feature. Would it possibly have something to do with the amount of resources in the port? Is there some minimum I'm overlooking?

Thanks all.

I think you cant stockpile supply in enemy base. When all land units have their supply maxed, you can't unload anymore.

Depends on what you mean by "LCU supply maxed". I see LCUs invading enemy bases that show them having 3 to 4 times their required supply in the LCU details window on a regular basis.

There may be a maximum that LCUs can carry, but it is a lot more than the minimum required number you see in the LCU details.

Yup. I've seen maybe ten or more times - a few hundred needed, many thousands on hand. Once the base is taken the excess flows to the base.

I've seen two related bugs, but both happening in friendly bases. In the first one, transports will unload until there is only a little bit left, then sit there for days and not unload the last bit. I've found that if I put them into a new task force and upload them, sometimes this works.

The other bug is when I'm loading troops or planes. Sometimes it will start loading, but then next day when I check it, it's unloading. Other times a task force is told to move to a certain hex after loading, but it just sits there in port.

I did run into a problem the other day where an invasion task force started unloading troops, then after a few were ashore, quit unloading. I had to manually start it again. Fortunately, it continued unloading from there. It was a good thing that the invasion was of an unoccupied base, otherwise my units would have been crushed.

Really really check the Unload/Do Not Unload Button in the top center of the screen. Awful easy to miss (just caught this on 3 convoys to OZ that sat there and sat there and sat there without unloading a thing - they had a hex destination in the SE corner and homeport of Wellington where I didn't want them to unload, then a continuation to Sydney, Melbourne etc where I did want them to unload but I forgot to change that dang button)

Everything was okay, TF was set to unload and it showed unloading. Surprisingly it started unloading the fourth day. But it´s real BS!! Three divisions doing shock attacks without supply - imagine how they look like now.... [:@]

I have seen this lately. I have assault TFs with APs loaded with troops and AKS loaded with ONLY supply. If I leave the TF together, the supplies from the AKs will not unload until the troops have debarked from the APs. If you put the AKs into their own TF, then they should unload at the same time. Seems to be some kind of bug introduced in a recent patch, I don't remember this oddity earlier.

Would it be better to place those AK's full of supply in the TF's which have the troops in them?? Hopefully, the supplies would unload with the troops rather than rely on them being unloaded in a separate TF.

Do what you want. If you put them together, get used to troops not having supplies

I have had this happening to me just as japan it don't seem to happen as allies, it really sets you back when your troops sit there for three days without any supply and your aks are getting bombed , I have tried several things  like  troops and supply on same ship , just troops or supply on the ships and even fast transports loaded with supply , still they don't unload on the first day and most the time not the 2nd or 3rd. latest patch installed.  [&:][&:][&:]

Hi, Never had this problem. Of course I only use 1.5k AP for invasions and then I provide excess capacity so my troops all unload in 1 phase and their supply goes with them.

Don't use escort mission to carry supply. It will never unload
cargo missions don't like being in enemy air space
only transport or amph missions work correctly. (if your making an opposed landing use amph mission)

There is no 'Cargo' mission. That's just a button to help when you let the code auto-select the ships for the TF you're creating. The TF is created with the mission 'Transport'.
