Hi Mr Patton

Great AAR.  I've been reading some time as a Lurker.

Was wondering if you could do us a screen shot of the 'Intelligence Report' giving the overall victory points situation and a shot of the top of the list of ships sunk ordered by value.

Thanks

Report of April 5th, 1942

Borneo

CL Sumatra and DD Van Ghent arrived in Pontianak durino the night to attack a small surface TF guarding the entrance of the harbor. One of my MSW have been badly damaged and sunk in the afternoon, while another received 3 hits. CL Sumatra received 2 hits.

Burma

My Oscar fight very well over Taung Gyi, repulsing another air raid and shooting down 1 Hurricane, plus damaging another 6. 1 Oscar was also shot down.

Singapore

57 Fortress bombed Singapore harbor, hitting 8 AP with one bomb each. Only one fortress was shot down. No losses between my CAP Fighters.
I now grouped some Betty and Nell daitai in Kuching. They will attack Batavia afld tomorrow.

China

In Nanchang the chinese attacked again and reduced the fort to 1. My defenders fought very well. The chinese lost 9501 men and 264 guns. My losses have been also high: 2176 casualties.

SW Pac

CL Marblehead and the rest of the TF disappeared, but the weather is terrible so I suppose my recon planes can’t find neither a TF with 20 CV sailing at 30 kts.
Anyway, I’m sending a TF with BB Fuso and BB Yamashiro to Lunga. Maybe Chuck is sending a bombardement TF against Guadalcanal.

Report of April 6th, 1942

DEI

38 Nell and 23 Betty attacked Batavia afld but my fighters were missing…. Were they are gone????
It has been a disaster. 45 enemy fighters shot down 10 Nell and 5 Betty. And no enemy planes destroyed on the ground.!! Someone has to pay for that.

South Pac

Finally Canton has a 4 size afld. I’m moving Betty on the atoll. It will be more difficult for enemy carriers to attack.

Report of April 7th, 1942

This was a great day for the japanes empire, with my forces attacking everywhere.

Philippines

Luzon has been finally occupied! 83882 enemy soldiers have been captured and are now marching north, towards the prison camps.
Now I have only to conquest Bataan but my intel said that only 3 enemy units are there. It will be a sort of exercise. Anyway I don’t want waste other time, so I will attack with 2. Inf Division and 65. Inf Bde. Other big units will start prepping for Port Moresby and Noumea. They need some rest now, after four months of fighting.
Anyway this conquest let me move a lot of air forces previously used to bomb the allied troops.

Burma

I’m unloading some B.F. in Rangoon and I’ll move them immediately north, to Taung Gyi and Meytkila.
Today 9 Oscar fought against 68 Hurricane (!), dhooting down one Hurrie without losses and stopping the raid.

Sumatra

TF Nagato, during the night, shelled Palembang in support of the landing of the 5. Infantry Division: 999 are the casualties. DD Oshio resulted damaged from returning fire and is heading back to Singapore.

Borneo

In front of Palmebang, the 35. Inf Bde begun to land in Pontianak.

South Pac

The Betty that arrived yesterday in Canton I. begun immediately attack enemy lines. During an air raid against Pago-Pago they sunk 1 APD and damaged other 2, one of them seriously.

Report of April 8th, 1942

Today was a day dedicated to fight sea mines, with my ships being occupied in several ports of the DEI.

Borneo

SS KX received 3 hits by my escort ships in Pontianak and sunk.
The 35. Infantry division occupied Pontianak and captured the 2439 men of the garrison.

Java

My bombers returned over Batavia, this time escorted by Zero. I lost 2 Zero and 3 Nell, but 11 allied fighters have been shot down.

Sumatra

In the afternoon SS Trusty torpedoed one of my AP in Palmembang. Chuck is very active with submarines. He’s sending them in my ports to mine them or to attack my commercial traffic.
Anyway, tomorrow the 5. Infantry Division will try to occupy the important enemy base.

Report of April 9th, 1942

Java

1 Zero and 2 Nell destroyed over Batavia, but my planes managed to shot down 11 enemy fighters.

SW Pac

The thunderstorm is gone and my bombers returned over PM. The Zero’s losses are heavy, 8 planes shot down in addition of 2 Betty, but the enemy fighters shot down have been 28! Cool.

Sumatra

The first attempt to conquest Palembang failed. I need to transport there an eng regiment and some artillery, to help, because the enemy fort level is 6.

China

The chinese occupied Nanchang, forcing my troops to retire towards Kiukiang. No I need absolutely retire towards Shangai, because I have no more great defense between Nanchang and Shangai.
Anyway in 5 days I’ll receive 4 new infantry division for the chinese theatre and I will send them all to Shangai.

Burma

The 33. Inf Division arrived 20 miles away from Lashio but my recon detected 6 enemy units there. I suppose they are chinese and my division alone can not do a miracle. I ordered the unit to go back to Taung Gyi

Report of April 10th, 1942

A very quiet day. Daily air raids against Palembang, Kuala and Batavia but nothing special. Only in New Guinea my planes are doing extremely well.

SW Pac

The air raids against PM are now more effective. Today I sent over the allied base 36 Betty and 13 Nell, escorted by 78 Zero. 34 enemy fighters of four different types were on CAP and what follows was a great air battle, during which I lost 1 Nell and 4 Zero. But 24 enemy fighters have been shot down and 3 bombers have been destroyed on the ground.

Report of April 12th, 1942

Burma

Over Imphal, today I lost 1 Zero, 1 Mavis and 1 Helen, while the brits lost 5 Hurricane, and 2 Blenheim were destroyed on the ground.

DEI

Mini-KB attacked Kendari airport, with 38 Kate, unescorted. The attack was not so successful, but with the lost of 1 Kate we destroyed 8 enemy aircrafts.

My Nell in Amboina finally attacked Tenimbat, sinking 1 AP.

1650 dutch soldiers have been captured in Makassar, when my troops entered to occupy the city.

SW Pac

Nell based in PM switched target and, today, they attacked on the sea, sinking 1 MSW

China

The situation is getting worst and worst. The chinese attacked E of Canton, forcing my troops to retreat in direction of Swatow.

Report of April 13th, 1942

Burma

Oh, what a bad day over Imphal. 80 Helen took-off from Rangoon, to bomb the important british airbase, escorted by 25 Zero. Over Imphal 25 Hurricane and 13 Buffalo were waiting on CAP.
After the fighting, 12 Zero went down, a lot of them exploding directly in the air, followed bby 2 Helen. Only 6 Buffalo and 3 Hurricane were lost by the brits.

DEI

From Amboina my Nell damaged 1 AP in Tenimbar and 1 AK in Kai I. Chuck is continuing to reinforce those islands. I will need a lot of troops to occupy them, but, anyway, I will annihilate the enemy air force before attacking.

Philippines

I was scared about the troops defending Bataan, but there was no justification for that. My troops shock attacked today and conquered the peninsula in a few hours, capturing the last 2637 allied soldiers fighting in Luzon.

Report of April 14th – 15th , 1942

Two very quiet days.

In North Pac my Oscar attacked an enemy TF formed by some CL. Honolulu received one 30 kg’s bomb but, obviously no damages. I’ve lost 3 Oscar for this minimal result.

In Palembang I’m unloading the 18. Inf Division to help the 5. Division on the conquest of the oil center. The 4. Mixed Bde will join soon. I don’t want to wast time there.

Report of April 16th – 17th , 1942

Sumatra

The 17th has been a terrible day. My escort TF anchored in Palembang, leaded by BB Nagato, has been attacked by a mixed US/british carrier TF. All the four BB have been damaged.
Nagato received 4-1000lbs bombs and has a fire level of 23, while sys damage is only 15. All the bombs exploded on deck without penetrate.
The Hyuga received 3 bombs and 3 torpedos and is at 42 / 41 / 21.
Kongo took one torpedo that brooke down the hull and caused a lot of flooding. The ship is now at 23/29/11.
Ise is in the worst situation. She has been hit by 2 bombs and 4 torpedos and is on fire with sys damage 62, floating 90 and fires 47. Singapore is only 5 hexes away but I don’t think she’ll reach the port.
I cannot understand what really happened. I had 16 Zero on LRCAP over Palembang but they were not in the sky when enemy planes arrived, my recon didn’t spot the incoming carriers and the Nell/Betty set for naval attack didn’t fly at all. All I can do now is to pray,
For the next turn I moved all the available Betty/Nell squadron in Georgetown and Kuching, and set them at max range. I suppose that Chuck will retire immediately his carriers but, in case they’ll remain in the area, my pilots are ready to fight.

Report of April 18th , 1942

DEI

In addition to the day of disaster, BB Hyuga encounter an enemy SS that put a torpedo on her.
The damages raised to 63/59/25, but she should be safe on Singapore tomorrow, where the Nagato arrived today, togheter with Kongo and CA Aoba (I forgot to tell the he was also damaged).
Ise, instead, is still 3 hex away, and she’ll need three more days. The float raised to 92. I’m sending out from Singapore a lot of ASW TF. Another torp on Ise ans shi will go down.

Now the time to move on has come. Operation Crocodile will begun immediately.

In Manila 2. Inf Div, 65. Inf Bde and 3. Eng Rgt, will board ships and will assault Kai Island. Recon spotted there 13640 men and 145 guns. I now that a US air group is based in Kendari. Before my troops will arrive I will try to close this airport. Anyway the aircover will be assured by the KB that will leave Truk tomorrow.

As I supposed, BB Ise, very badly damaged, sunk tonight. The crew has done the impossible to save the ship, but the damages were too extensive. All the other battleships reached the Singapore.
