Isn't it something...

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

Isn't it something...

Post by Huffy »

My wife brought this up...how I buy all these other games at the store ,..or where ever....and every time she comes by the room I am playing my free game I got from Matrix. To quote...."you always play that same boring game". In her defense..she does not understand such things.
But you know she is right....I seem to always come back to SPWAW...
Just a passing thought...but how many of you do the same?
Take care,

Count me in! I own more than 400 games (I'm mainly collecting CRPGs), in every genre, but there's always been at least two games on my HD, permanently: one from the SP series (wether it's SP1,2,3 or WW2, MBT, WaW) and a CRPG. Right now I'm playing alternatively WinSPMBT, SP 3, Wizardry 8, Neverwinternights and Betrayal at Krondor.

Wait? Your complaining that your wife A) actually looks at what your playing B) knows what game it is and C) Knows that it is a freeware game?

It is obvious she loves you enough to learn things you do and here you are whining about it? Shame, shame.

Women do not like a man having a good time, unless she is somehow involved.
Women not only don't understand, most don't want to.
When I acquired a computer Train Simulator, my wife said "Oh, I am so glad to see you are away from all that war stuff, the shooting noises bother me".(quote)..
I am a combat vet and the shooting noises *used to bother me*, but not the kind on the computer.(LOL).........[:D]
IMHO, women who enjoy wargames, (like AmmoSgt and RhondaBrwn are national treasures who should be held in high esteem on these forums.)

Heh, my Fiance plays more violent games than I do. :P But, while I have far more games installed regularly, SPWaW is my most regular game. Which isn't saying much, a few turns a week means even a short campaign takes forever.

I have Call of Duty, and Call of Duty:UO installed, that I play semi-regularly; Might and Magic II, Might and Magic III, and Might and Magic: World of Xeen; Might and Magic VI & VII; the Bard's Tale Trilogy, Dragon Wars, Phantasie I & III, Age of Wonders, Medieval: Total War; Day of Defeat: Source, Wizardry 6, 7, & 8, Wasteland, Abrams Battle Tank, Dungeon Hack,  Civilization, Sim City, The Summoning, Viel of Darkness,  God of Thunder,  Mini Putt, Gunboat, and PGA Golf. All in addition to SP:WaW. Most of them I play only sparingly. SPWaW, CoD:UO, M:TW, and WoX are the only ones I've played in the last several months. And CoD was only after I upgraded my computer.

The two main games I play are SPWAW and Nascar Racing 2003, which isn't exactly a game I guess. And I probably have a hundred games. [:'(]

I used to be a Civ II, then CTP2, then Civ III addict, but only until I discovered SP:WAW.
Since I first played this awesome game, I rarely miss a day playing it.
I'm a dyed-in-the-wool, hopeless SP:WAWaddict.
I never play any other games.
There can be only one.
With the Depot ACL
there is no need
(or time) for
another
game.

What, that She plays more violent games than me, or the fact that I'm getting married? :P

She loves horror stuff like Silent Hill and Resident Evil. I play classic CRPGs which aren't very gorey or violent, as well as mildly violent TBS and one RTS. The rest are usually old school action games, like Sonic the Hedgehog. I do play CoD, which is about the most violent I get, but not on par with RE or SH.

Maybe she just wants to get on the computer [:)]

We solved the problem here. My fiancee has a desktop she uses to sell on eBay. I play my games on a laptop right next to her. And the kids have their own computer, IN ANOTHER ROOM! At least we don't have to listen to the music they like. [:D]

We're planning on two computers ourselves. Of course, we're not married yet, and we're waiting until marriage for any hanky panky, so no little bloody devils to worry about. :P Plus, no house to put them in yet; we're planning on building our own. We need room in the garage for a Sherman tank! ;)

That's for the runs to church when it's nice out. Or to dinner, movies, ect... The Sherman is for the daily commute.
