AE's

Post by JagdFlanker »

i thought AE's were for replenishing ammo at sea, but it seems that doesn't happen. so i guess they are for replenishing ammo at small port islands with 1000 supply?

They can be used at sea only by Allies in 1945.. and in WITP [:)]..

Unfortunatly level 1 port (with sufficient supplies) provide ammo even without AE [:(]. Remember during the AE discussion on WITP forum, someone claimed that it is possible to use AE in coastal hex (non-base) [&:] . Never tried that..

i threw 2k of supplies on layson island, put an AE TF there, and tried to reload an empty BB TF there and it didn't do anything. soooooo - if you can reload any TF at any size 1 port or higher, does that make AE's COMPLETELY useless and a waste of displaced ocean?

In WITP manual it is stated that AE can replentish only non-mine, not-torpedo ammo with effect less than 60 (mostly AA). I doubt that AE code was rewritten in WPO. So don't expect them to serve main guns. The effect might be quite opposite [:D] Yet need to verify if they can be used in port of size 0 or at coat hexes..

My experience is that you can reload BB (even main weapon) in level 1 port with supplies. This could be considered as quite serious flaw and the only cure for now is house rules. Hopefully, this to be fixed someday in WITP and with some probability to be applied to her forgotten kid [:)]
