I am very sad ...

Post by ericfa2a »

Now that the patch is out i must buy COTA.
But what's make me sad is that i haven't play all the HTTR scenarios and i am sure that when i'll buy COTA, i'll never go back to HTTR cause the too many improvements in UI and gameplay made in COTA.
This makes me very sad but i can't wait anymore.
I love HTTR, but now that the patch is out, my time limit to not purchase COTA is reached.
Today, i am very sad !
I don't thanks you Dave for such a beautifull game [:)]. And to face me that terrible choice.
Ah !! The life is really a unjust and so is Dave.
Bye bye HTTR, Welcome COTA !! Thus is the life.

Eric.

PS : Of course, i am not so serious,altough ..... [:D]

Word on the street is that the HTTR scenarios will be importable into the next release (Battles from the Bulge, with its 1944-45 estabs). I hope Panther comes through with this!

Paul,

Hold on a minute. Let me clarify. We will be incorporating the HTTR estabs into the BFTB Estabs. We will NOT be doing anything to ensure that HTTR scenarios can be imported into BFTB. In fact I can say that this will not be possible. What will be possible is that users can then recreate those HTTR scenarios by converting the HTTR maps with the MapMaker and using the BFTB estab file. In opther words it will be up to the user community not Panther Games to generate a new set of HTTR scenarios.

So forget the word on the street, the horse's mouth has spoken. I do not want to create false expectations here and would appreciate your cooperation to this end. Thanks. [:)]

Arjuna,

what Paul wanted to express is that HTTR will be automatically mportable in BFTB provided you have 25 Chinese in your basement to redo all scenarios.
from your point of view, it's simply importing. It's just a matter of time ... [;)]

Well, time permitting, I am going back to replaying the HTTR scenarios. However, I am no longer taking the defaults, but instead stacking the deck against myself in terms reinforcements and supply.

However, with regards to weather, I am not quite sure in general which choice of weather aids which side. Is there an easy way to determine that without knowing the details of the scenario like availability of air strikes, attack/defender, and who has further to move (not even sure weather affects movement rates)?

What do you do when you win even though you have stacked the deck against yourself? I guess I'll have to try a few more scenarios like this and see how they turn out.

Dave, any comments on how to determine best weather setting for increased challenge without knowing scenario specifics?

Thanks.
