Empires in Arms is the computer version of Australian Design Group classic board game. Empires in Arms is a seven player game of grand strategy set during the Napoleonic period of 1805-1815. The unit scale is corps level with full diplomatic options
Correct!
We have developed a generic (Meant for miniatures) interface where EIANW will set up a text file for you to use in your combat resolution. This text file will be the details of the combat to be fought (weather, units, morale, etc). When your battle is complete then fill in the fields for casualties and winners and the game will load the results reflecting them in EIANW.
Thank you
Firstly, I want to congratulate and thank-you for having the perserverance to program EIA and to stick with it over several years. You have some die hard fans to please and we are not an easy bunch for sure!
My question relates to the text file for resolving combats via miniatures. Does this feature also extend to naval combat? I must confess I prefer the Advanced Naval Rules that were released in the General Magazine many moons ago that rated the fleets for morale, had naval tactics, etc. I always felt that just relying on mostly ship numbers and wind guage was misleading because in almost every major naval engagement, decisive naval victories (Nile, Cape St Vincent, Trafalgar) were not achieved by overwhelming numbers but rather by superior tactics, crews and leadership, particularly on the British side.
My hope was to resolve the naval combats using the Advanced Naval rules and then to input the results back into the game, just have you have proposed for land combats. If it is not included in the first release, I would hope it would be considered as part of a future patch.
Chameleon:
You could easily use it for naval battles as well.
It's written for the entire combat engine which by default covers naval battles.
Thank you
I personally would like to automate this interface a bit more so that we could easily add other combat engines as "plugins" and see them more integrated with EiANW.
Thank you
I know its a bit early, but do you think a scenario editor could be possible ? I mean, to do the 1740 war as an exemple, corps, maps and a lot of rules are different...
