Is this going to be a remake of Carriers at War or Complete Carriers at War (i.e. with all the extra scenarios)?

And is this replacing the "Carrier Strike" redo, or is that one still planned as well?

Hi Terminus

This is a remake of Carriers At War not Complete Carriers At War. SSG has a lot of ideas they are working on so I expect we will see more Carriers At War in the future.

Hi GJK

Not at all. Mike and Gary are working away and the results I have seen so far look very nice.

I'm with you, man. I have CAW in both the DOS and C64 versions. To see this game reborn is something I've been eagerly anticipating for several years. [&o]

You can buy software for your so that your MAC can run Windows software.

Apple is pushing people to do so.

i have it. it is not the same thing as running native.

apple is not pushing people to do that, it is there when there is no other alternative, and on the new intel macs, windows is not emulated.

I thought on the new Intel Macs, you could download some free software and run WIN XP

You can do a Windows install with "Boot Camp" (fitting title for us wargamers, innit?). It is not emulated as were previous incarnations like "Virtual PC". People are running the most graphic intensive FPS games fine on intel Macs now.

I don't think there's anyway that we could make a native Mac version of CAW, or any of our other programs, an economic proposition. We were only able to do the original Mac versions of many of our games because we hired a Mac programmer, who, on application of heated iron bars to his feet, also agreed to program the PC versions, so we could get two versions in one. I can't see that happening again.

Will the game have a scenario editor? If it has, then there is no necessity of a complete carriers ate war, the modders will do the job....

Yes, you get the same Editor that we used to make the game.

gregor, thanks for the response. do you still have the bars? you could heat them up again!

seriously, what kind of sales forecast would make it an economic feasibility? i owned every mac program you guys did and CAW was my fav. i kept an old machine around for a long time just so i could run it.

i have tried the Battles in Normandy demo using Virtual PC and it works pretty well, so i guess i always have that route, but...well, you know.
