-The enemy seems to be building a major base in Makin. Our Nells attacked two Fleet oilers in the local harbour, which is a sure sign that the enemy plans to commit major naval units to the Island. Even worse is the fact that the massive damage inflicted by our ships three days ago was repaired and the base was expanded to level 2 airfield. We expect fighters to be brought soon...
-The enemy LB-30´s visited Nanchang again and caused heavy damage to the local industries, however, this time they were opposed by KI-43´s, which shot down 4 enemy fighters despite being outnumbered 4:1

-For a third time the USN caught Japan by surprise, with a lightning invasion on Marcus Island followed by a USN raid close to imperial home waters. The bitter taste of defeat
-Well, it seems that the extent of my stupidity is still to be exposed. I made the terrible mistake of not reinforcing my external defense perimeter despite the obvious predilection of Lee by the Central Pacific. Now he is threatening the sea routes to Truk and New Guinea and captured a base very close to imperial homewaters. Meanwhile the powerful combined fleet is running from one side to another and always arriving too late. A waste of fuel at best. My guess is that I suffered a devastating strategic defeat and it´s likely that the game will end in early 1944. It´s possible, on the other side, that Lee will suffer from overextension in the next months. We will see. Both sides still have their complete CV fleets. In my case, this means 650 combat ready planes. The question is how and when they can be used in a decisive battle, or maybe they will be reduced to the role of escorts for merchant ships in troubled waters????

-Now it is Iwo Jima that is going to fall. The Japanese HQ, predicting that enemy bombers will attack our cities in weeks, is urging the industries to produce as much Tojos as they can. The first squadron will be ready in a few days. The only Ki-51 factory was converted to produce Tojos....

We'll see what happens, the invasion is still in its early phases. But after a significant decoy invasion of Makin Island to the south, hundreds of American ships assembled in the North Pacific, planning a massive invasion of Marcus Island and Iwo Jima. Intel indicated both islands had minimal garrisons, and the KB was distracted down south at Makin. For now the islands are under American control and the warmongering citizens of the Home Islands will receive their first gesture of Allied revenge soon....
But of course the enemy gets a vote too, and the marines on Iwo Jima are digging in deep at Mount Suribachi, while watching motivational films like Flags of Our Fathers of course.

Aaaaarrrrghhhhhh!!!!!
-Following wrong reports that the enemy CV´s had retreated (fearing our powerful LBA....heheheh), the IJN attempted a desperate attack on the enemy troops on Iwo Jima. CVE Tayo with 27 Kates, along with a DD TF (on secret mission) sailed south...to be smashed again....27 Kates lost. A few Betties attempted to attack the enemy fleet again, with poor results. Only one enemy BB took a torpedo. The only good news is that the enemy lost about 20 of their fighters, against 14 of our escorting Zeroes....

Iwo Jima fell. Lots of ships in the local harbour are lost. More three damaged DD´s are finished, bringing total losses to 14 DD´s. In the neglected Central Pacific Front there were a few good news, as 18 Nells escorted by Zeroes destrouyed 8 enemy fighters and sunk one DD and 2 AK´s. Better than nothing

ALLIED COMMANDER UPDATE:
With Iwo Jima & Marcus Island secure, marine fighter squadrons and other aircraft assembled into the new bases. However, the enemy "always has a vote" and tough Imperial mainland Zero squadrons and Betty's counterattacked, taking down a good # of fighters and several transports. But considering Iwo Jima cost the Allies 20,000 casualties in 1945, I'm definitely willing to lose quite a few transports and what not to secure that prize.
On other fronts:
--Chinese forces swim back across the river after charging foolishly into the Mandalay fortified zone, but meanwhile hordes of angry Brits come down the jungle trail to get revenge on the Japanese conquerers.
--Australian forces march across New Guinea and land at Kusai north of Darwin
--American troops reinforce Iwo & Marcus Island
--Canadian troops embark for teh long journey, but to where?
