Bases question

Post by JudgeDredd »

In my scenario I am creating, I need to really include bases. The scenario is 3 1/2 days long (maybe more, yet) so I need bases.

The problem is, providing a base unit for my allied unit, I'm looking at a base of some 800 men...no when I place that base where I want it to be, it unfortunately is located in my Akrotiri victory location. Being a main VP location, I don't really want 800 "non frontline" troops swinging the victory pendulum the other way...so I need them to be outside of the vp location. Unfortunately, it wouldn't make any sense to move them to the left or right of my map....so I was thinking...is there anyway I can have the base, say, on an island (ala what would be like TOAW - units on small islets).

I'm not sure what to do here....it is a complete imbalance to have the force where it is, but sticking it out to the left or the right of the map makes for it being vulnerable and not very realistic.

Any ideas please?

Thx

Billy,

I don't see a problem leaving it there, The Brits start with that objective controlled. An AI controlled side will assign a line unit of some sort to secure it. It may or may not move the Base. it will depend on enemy intel reports. A human Brit player can do as he pleases. So it's a non-issue. Stick the Base there, where I would put it anyway.
