Getting tired of Pacific War Games

Post by pad152 »

Getting tired of Pacific War Games [>:]

After 5 or 6 years of Uncommon Valor, War in the Pacific, War Plan Orange what do we have to look forward to?

Carriers at War
Uncommon Valor II
Carrier Strike

One would think that at lease one of these new games would take us to another theather or timeframe (War in Med, North Atlantic 86, or something really really new).

Please give us a naval game, something other than another Pacific WWII game![:-]

Burned out on PacWar games!

Agreed. Where's that Mediterranean game...?

I'm not burned out, by the way, but change would be welcome.

AFAIK UV II = Carrier Strike.

Well a Med Game would be nice or one about soviet nazi sea war. Convoys, mines, and much smaller ships (like minelayers or torpedo boats) but there were a lot of actions on the baltic or the Nord Sea

I second that motion!
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

'Greatest' based on which criteria?

you know - the old CAW was very customizable for the time - I remember copying a scenario from one of the mags back then for the Jap raid on Ceylon - and from that I created several of my own scenarios with the US involved and on and on....

Anyway - I'm sure a Med scenario will pop up pretty quick when CAWII comes out - and if not, I'll make my own crappy version!

I am a bit disappointed that GG is putting off the Easter Front remake to work on Carrier Strike II, but I guess I can wait a couple more years - especially since I'll be playing Forge of Freedom when it comes out...

SSI's Bomb Alley was a favorite of mine... and that was back in 1982, 24 years ago! You would think that subject would have made a reappearance at least once by now.

Did you ever have a look at Bomb Alley Ver. 2.0 (in Prodos) at:

And I remember when , not two years ago, gamers were lamenting the dearth of Pacific games.

They were lamenting for Pacific LAND based games and still are. Naval Pacific games can take a flying leap except for "CAW" and "Carrier Strike" as far as I'm concerned, but, I still want for more Pacific LAND based games. I bought Killerbee's Perfect General online just because it has the land battles for the Pacific War. It's a very beer n pretzels combat engine, but, at least it's something for Pacific land based gaming.
WE/I WANT 1:1 or something even 1:2 death animations in the KOIOS PANZER COMMAND SERIES don't forget Erik! ;) and Floating Paratroopers We grew up with Minor, Marginal and Decisive victories why rock the boat with Marginal, Decisive and Legendary?

I doubt anyone will anytime soon be in a hurry to say a preferred theater is being over done :)

Those that like the Pacific will likely always want more Pacific.

Does Close Combat have any good Pacific action yet?
I LIKE that my life bothers them,
Why should I be the only one bothered by it eh.
