[1.38] disabled list

Post by mossicon »

if i set the game up to notify me that a player is eligible to return from the DL, it does so after every single game once the 15 days are up. that is very frustrating. for example, i currently have a guy who has a 'moderate thumb injury' with 2 weeks recovery time. i don't want to bring him off the DL yet, but i also can't sim more than 1 day at a time. i could deactive the notify option, but that makes no sense to me.

i think this needs to be adapted so that:

1) it only notifies once when the 15 days are up
2) it notifies when the player is no longer considered 'OUT', i.e. he could play but at reduced effectiveness
3) if the player is still on the DL, it finally notifies you again once the player is 100% fit

or am i just not understanding this?

I assume this is "your" choice... otherwise it's very easy to sim any number of days at one time. But if you are saying that you can't sim more than one day because of the notification, I think it's an "all or nothing" type notification. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

yes, that is correct. i should have been clearer.

if it is all or nothing, then i think this is something that could be improved upon :)

Agreed, I would love to see the DL set up like that.

moss_icon, I've been arguing for the same thing for a while.

Specifically what I'd like to see is
- only one notification when both (15 days are up) and (player is no longer considered 'OUT')
- notification and FORCED ROSTER MOVE when both (15 days are up) and (player is 100% fit). This might almost be notification THAT the player has been brought off the DL and your roster is no longer legal.

I'd also like to see the 60-day DL brought a little closer to RL by having players on the 60-day DL no longer count against your total roster limit.

Yeah, sorry, previous arguments may have been in the old forum and/or the closed beta-test forum. I meant to lend support for what you are saying, not chip you for raising an issue dear to my heart! [:D]

What do you think about the 60-day DL suggestion, and/or the forced roster move, as they both differ a bit from your original post?

i think that the 60 day roster suggestion would be very useful, especially when playing with 35 man rosters. being forced to bring a player of the DL i am not too fussed about as i wouldn't leave a healthy guy on there myself, but i could see it being useful in some circumstances and it would be more realistic.
