We are to assault the german lines and try and push them back from our Motherland. we have been told to expect mines and have managed to get extra platoons of Engineers to cut wholes in there lines. We have already spotted at least 5 of there tanks on our north flank and have begun to exchange shots with them already. Two platoons of our tanks screening our north flank have engaged them with no success so far.
There is at least two rows of mines we have to remove and I hope our flame tanks will be able to help the Engineers cut a hole faster. The Engineers have begun to recieve smalll arm fire from the enemy and this will slow our progress some what have called for our mortars to start laying some smoke just behind the fields to help them somewhat.
This is going to be a long and hard battle for us as we have recieved heavy small arm fire which says that we are facing a large force. Just might be the X SS Panzer tank force. Sure hope so really so we can get back at them somewhat.
If you look at the recon photo sent along with this report you will see how we plan to cut thru with the north Companys and get thru to the back that way. The southern flank has the longest distance to travel so will be slow cutting thru the mines. Can only hope they meet far less in the way of the enemy force and can once thru vere north to help the center.
I have no doubt our losses will be high as I fear the enemy is well dug in and do not want to lose today or be pushed back any more.
