I have played pbem game twice and I use Russia in both games.
I play this game terrible, terrible, I know that. However, I want to say that the Axis force is so strong when it controled by human. I lost Moscow and Leningrad BOTH before winter!
Would you like to told me how to save those two city? How to hold my frontline? thanks
Playing as the Russians is tough. You can either use a bunch of "house rules" to even things up, or play as the Russians and then switch and play as the Germans against the same opponent, then compare scores. Check out the threads here on strategy and House Rules. I personaly abandon Leningrad and concentrate on keeping Moscow. Good Luck!
Astrologers believe that your future is determined on the day that you are born.
Warriors know that your future is determined on the day that your enemy dies.
unfortunatly you pretty much can't prevent both from falling - it wouldn't be a big deal if there wasn't so many factories that you lose in moscow! i personally think it would be totally fair if there was a house rule preventing the germans from taking moscow in '41, but i'v never seen it done...
Oh, i see.
Another question is about Luftwaffe.
Well, I know the Houserule and I withdraw all my airforce from frontline since the first turn. Then, the Germany begin to bombard my city. In my opinion, the Luftwaffe is unbeatable before winter which means that is suicide if I send my fighters to defend my city.
My question is which is better, lose mass fighters in order to reduce the factor damage from bombard or save my aircrafts?
About the use of Air Red Force:
To protect your Russians cities, place near them an HQ with one or two I-16 in CAP (and nothing more).
If the German bomb the city, then your fighters (with a little luck), will intercept them. Of course, your fighters will be defeated, but with AA, the loses of German bombers will be enough to disuade the German player to begin a strategic bombing campaign.
Two remarks: Then, the German could bomb your airports, but then the CAP and AA will be enough: you´ll change He-111 or Ju-88 against obsolete I-16.
This air defense doesn´t work in Leningrad, because the city is in range of German fighters from Finnland airports. In Leningrad, the Russian only can hold on the bombs.
As German, I usually don´t attack the Russians cities in 41 campaign: the loses are too heavy and I need the bombers for tactical purpose. But sometimes, I attack the oil camps, Stalingrad or even Moscow to force to the Soviet to place there fighters in CAP and not in training.
I agree that the Soviet player has a difficult position in 41 campaign. But if you want to play a PEBM as German, I can give you some headeaches... With the ussual Home Rules, not more.
You said:" I attack the oil camps?h?Chowever, the Russia have 140 more or less oil. In my mind, the readness will be reduce only the oil produce under 100.

Against a good player it's not possible to hold those cities with standard WiR 3.3.
I suggest you adopt some house rules limiting the German air offensives, etc, which will help you hold Moscow and Leningrad. Check the "PBEM and House Rules" thread. Perhaps the last of the house rules mentioned in that thread are the ones to use.
I have also been told that the Possum mod makes it possible for the Russians to hold on, although I haven't played it PBEM.
Thank you delatbabel.
Is there still hope after Moscow and Leningrad falled?
When I against a good player which means hold the two cities is holpless, what should I do? Give up those in order to save my army or what?

Depends on whether you can get them back in the blizzard. The loss of the factories doesn't hurt as much as the loss of the resources and population. With your resources down you will not be able to produce much even with all of the factories in the Urals.
