The ability for infantry to mount and dismount halftracks, trucks and tanks .....

also the ability to tow antitank guns.

.. also maybe the addition of forward observers for controll of offscreen artillery and air support.

I don't think the battlefields are big enough to warrant including the above. That said, I hope they increase the map sizes...

Like you said, loyalcitizen, I don't really think the current mapsizes warrant this feature - and bigger maps would only hurt the AI further.
So in the end, I guess the inclusion of this feature ultimately depends on the AI improvements (like so much else...!).

I guess this has been discussed as long as this series exists [;)]

Stop right there!!!...tow artillary?, trains?, ships?...and to be honest I don't want my guys riding on tanks on those maps...there is a little crappy RTS game called Sudden Strike that does all that and this is no Sudden Strike...please don't get carried away with adding so much you make it into a totally different game. AI improvements, maps, graphic touch ups, etc..but don't get all gamey on me or I won't even bother buying it because it won't be Close Combat anymore.

Come on guys! It would be amazing having your panzergrenadiers in HT's flanking enemy positions or towing that AT gun to a recently captured hill.....

Infantry Mount/Dismount is available in the Military Productions (CCM/CCRAFRegt) based on CC, but not on Tanks.   I reckon it's a perfectly valid feature to have, and should be expanded...
