Dreadnoughts and battleships

They appear in the manual, but are not in the mission editor. Can someone enlighten me? :-)

Also, where are the new cruisers and weapons Milo mentions in the Firingsquad interview?

DNs and BBs are not in the mission editor because they are not stock ships. Milo based this game more on modern naval combat than WWII. As such, DNs and BBs are only there because of modder requests (from WAAAAY back.) You will have to build your own if you want to use them.

As for your second question, I can't help you yet because I don't have the game yet.

Ok, just to be a PIB (and because I paid 35 euro for what at this time seems like 'just' a graphics update):

"FiringSquad: What can you tell us about the new ships in Starshatter Il and how they compare to the original game?

John DiCamillo: Well, first off, all of the ships from the original release have been redesigned and updated with higher poly counts and higher resolution textures. In addition, each major faction has been given some new cruisers and fighters, and all of the Terellian fighters now have 3D cockpit models for that "you are there" feeling. As a general rule, the ships all have more weapons - especially some of the cruisers that are now just bristling with turrets and missile launchers. Also, all of the ships have visible maneuvering thrusters, just cause it looks cool. "

Would someone care to comment?

It isn't good reason to buy game second time only becouse it looks cool.

We want more! So say we all!

All of the models were redone. Heh..I have done the 3d cockpit thing already in the SW mod. I have a Black Sun Transport that has a complete bridge along with a hologram of the ship like it would be in the movies.

All in all the graphics look great. Audio stinks but that can be patched. When the mod tools come out and some info on the triggers that were added to the mission editor.

Sorry, but that's not what Milo said.

I find the lack of response from Milo or Matrix disturbing - this is PR, guys, defend your decision to release this product.

Anyways, I'd love to see mods coming out, usermade scenarios etc. Unfortunately this particular mission editor defeats me.

I must admit, after reading all the posts on this game I've been sitting on my wallet. It would be nice to read when a full blown new version my be appearing. I don't want to buy into the end of the current versions life cycle just because it got a facelift - if it's still the same old gal underneath!

Let's just wait and see if (cost free) patches add new campaign(s). Even some old campaign from new viewpoint (playing with Dantari Sepratists for example) would be refreshing.

But I'm afraid there won't be new campaign until Starshatter hits the store if it ever happens [:(]
