Recruiting a COTA Squad...

Post by barbarossa2 »

I have no financial involvement with the people at Panther Games whatsoever...

That being said, I would like to say that I think that Panther Games is in the process of developing the best damned tactical game I have ever played.

I would like to get the word on this thing out and have heard that many gamers out there are hesitant to try it because of its "new" way of depicting tactical/operational combat (i.e. realtime!).

To help introduce people in other forums to COTA, I have added some stuff to my signature. First of all, the COTA banner. And secondly, a very short blurb and rating. This is advertising that the damned hard working guys at Panther cannot buy. And I think they deserve it. This is a damned incredible game system, and I want them to be around in ten years cranking more of this stuff out.

I would like to see about five guys who play COTA, and are fans of it, step up and join this squad. [;)] Men who will put their signatures on the line to help promote COTA in the forums. I can't offer you anything but the knowledge that you are doing what is best for future generations of gamers! And yourselves![;)]

Drop me a line if you are interesed in putting a banner in your signature and if you don't know how, I will help you.
Thanks!

Chris

P.S. This is purely my idea and the people at Panther never asked me to do this!

barbarossa2,

What you propose is a fine idea, and can be effective if done subtlety with banners and avitars and such. I agree that this game system deserves it's place in the history of conflict simulation development.

When you venture off to other boards just remember that the average lurker and especially the dedicated forum posters can smell a spammer a mile away.

lol , interesting metamorphosis there.... first you act like a virgin right b4 her first time thingy, when u said u wouldn't buy COTA, and then you transform into a spammer to promote PG's course. Entertaining [:)]

COTA's engine beats all competing engines easily, so it's not like you're promoting the wrong course there, at least. You might have picked up a bad weapon in the arsenal, though. [;)][:D]

Yes! I am a gaming whore. [;)] And when I get into something, I get INTO it. So the other day I figured, what the hell. And I downloaded COTA. I have sold it to two friends already!

But PG deserves some banners in people's signatures. I don't know how long I will do it, but they deserve some time. It would be a nightmare if I woke up one morning to hear that PG closed down shop. They have soooo much promise.

Ha! Hey Judge. You know what I mean. I should say "sold them on it." I think first will be downloading it tonight. I want PG to STAY in business. Not drive them out of it. [;)]

[:D]LOL, my thoughts exactly...i'm waiting on a new thread entitled:

I didn't buy because I was sooooo peaved about the lack of an ability to coordinate attacks. You know, "whole army group over the top at 0600."

Well, I decided that if I don't give in and buy, and do my best to support this game, instead of dis it, then PG might not be around to release what I call "a perfect product" in 2015. At 39, I have seen too many "promising game companies" fold up overnight never to be heard of again. Even my favorites. Who wasn't shocked by what happend to Avalon Hill!?!?!?

So I decided to move and get behind it. And this is it. I WANT PG and AA to succeed. And I will just have to sit on my complaints in the mean time!

And silly jokes from you guys! [:D]

Hi Barb',

[;)]

Nice idea you have. The more, the better.

I would join if I did not have links to the game sites already in my sig from day one.
And I'm not a fan of those banners in signatures either.

Anyway, never lose a chance to promote the game.

Well. Been there, done that. [:)]

It took me a couple of months of nearly constant playing AA demos (yes, two of hem) before deciding to buy. During that time I was posting into the forums saying that it was all nice and fun but ... Even Dave nearly lost his legendary temper IIRC.
I finally proposed to setup a fan website a couple of minutes after I ordered the game.

And one of the most prolific (promotion wise) COTA beta tester (Hi Eddy ! [;)]) was never conviced by the AA demo either...

Cheers,

JeF.
