Well, now chinese units have Assault Engineers (24 or 36). Well China is stronger, if you can supply it you can deploy field armies with assault values of 1300 ¡¡¡ [X(]

RE: The Magnificent Seven vs. Nemo/Cid - Allied AAR
Yep, I know it is potentially huge. The problem will lie in supplies to reinforce them to such levels.
RE: The Magnificent Seven vs. Nemo/Cid - Allied AAR
Ask to the British Commonwealth player for those minor things like supply [:'(]

RE: The Magnificent Seven vs. Nemo/Cid - Allied AAR
I will
Russians may help too. But first have to assess my forces.
RE: The Magnificent Seven vs. Nemo/Cid - Allied AAR
i think i have a plan for opening moves in western part of map - this game is so far diffrent from stock that quite diffrent planning is needed
i will try to post my conclusions on friday but..
...burma theater will be a air jaggernought any longer for Japan
only 25 pilots per month for british and rather low replacements of fighters
on friday you will get
summary of forces
problem / opportunities
main tasks
ideas to cooperate with other HQs
looks like my secondary task will be supplying China and Oz as well as ABDA
on the other hand i will require transport capacity in dei in opening days
all of this should be ready on friday

RE: The Magnificent Seven vs. Nemo/Cid - Allied AAR
I have already my opening moves in my mind, but all depend on what KB thinks about staying in a Hawaian Holiday or not....

RE: The Magnificent Seven vs. Nemo/Cid - Allied AAR
EDIT: Ooops, wrong button.
Anyway...
What do you think about a council of Allied commanders deciding about reinforcements and especially usage of political points? Something like the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) in real life? Each player would have a different number of votes in this council, maybe like this:
USA: 6 votes (3 USN and 3 Army)
Britain: 4
ANZAC: 2
ABDA: 2
China: 1
Soviet Union: 0. Stalin won't cooperate! [:'(]

RE: The Magnificent Seven vs. Nemo/Cid - Allied AAR
Things we have to talk about sooner or later:
1. General, overall strategy - obviously hard to do until we know what Japan, especially IJN is up to. But some points can be discussed already (ABDA: run away, or stand and fight, for example)
2. Political points. Who may spend them, and how much. See above for my suggestion.
3. Division US Navy/Army, or CentPac/SWPac? BlitzK and ggraven2004 should probably decide this alone...
BlitzK, you mentioned that you have played against el cid again. Can you tell us more about his style of play? I think Nemo's style is already legendary on this board. For anyone unfamiliar with him, here are some links, his AAR are extremely... entertaining! [;)]

RE: The Magnificent Seven vs. Nemo/Cid - Allied AAR
The problem is the mix Cid-Nemo [:D]
Plays safe, only one turn of PH attack, and then try to hunt the US CVs near Johnston, then retreat. Uses his subs aggresively.
Did a raid-trap into Thursday Island on turn 1, but pretty conservative with his forces, except for an all-force assault into Philipphines with all the BBs and several CVLs covering landings into northern Luzon.
He was *very* aggresive in China, preparing several stacks to attack the outer rim bases
We only play something like 10 days, but that are my conclusions.
Nemo is an overaggresive player, so the mix is explosive [;)]

RE: The Magnificent Seven vs. Nemo/Cid - Allied AAR
I bet Nemo will land in Mersing on turn 1 and then invade India in force as soon as possible. That's his well known idee-fixe
Sneer, you should be prepared for this.

RE: The Magnificent Seven vs. Nemo/Cid - Allied AAR
That's why we have to impose Historical First turn!!! as when i played Nemo he landed on every fraking pac Island... but quit after i smashed the KB... but this was nik mod... i don't know about this one... any way's dose any one checked the balancing of this Campaign??

Pinky: Hey Brain what are we goeing to do this evening?
Brain: The Usual Pinky we will try to take over the World;)
RE: The Magnificent Seven vs. Nemo/Cid - Allied AAR
I'm sure that is what he wants to do... but he needs the IJN for an invasion of India. I can already hear him yelling at Cid, demanding transports and escorts... [:D]
I think I might... I've already got a cunning plan... [;)] ...but it will be mind-blowingly unhistorical - not sure if that's the way you (we) want to play this game. I have to do some math before I'm ready to talk about it anyway.ORIGINAL: Elladan

RE: The Magnificent Seven vs. Nemo/Cid - Allied AAR
If you ask about such things as an uber-CAP or excessive air combat losses then RHS is much better than stock. No more cruising around with KB, killing every freaking allied flying coffin. Japanese carriers are vulnerable to allied air power from the first turn. Ships, AFAIK, have lesser operating radius, so KB won't be able to make circles around PH without refueling. China is also significantly stronger than in stock and map there is a nightmare. For both sides unfortunately
RE: The Magnificent Seven vs. Nemo/Cid - Allied AAR
Well, now India has 15 BDEs, plus 3 RGTs and several small Bns plus the forces defending Burma.
With a Division coming in 15 days, plus another BDE each month more or less.
Take note that if we play with 6.x map level, we can transfer via channel the Australian Divisions to India. Plus deploying some of the USA Divs here if we feel India threatened.
We recieve 2000 PPs daily, after 15 days we will have excess of PPs to play with them [:'(]

Indeed, after a week or two we shouldn't have to worry for PPs ever.

RE: The Magnificent Seven vs. Nemo/Cid - Allied AAR
Hey, that looks perfect to me. Main priority for USN is keeping the assests while maintaining open the route to Australia/New Zealand

RE: The Magnificent Seven vs. Nemo/Cid - Allied AAR
A historical start with EOS sounds just plain wrong to me. [;)]
RHSEOS (Scenario 65):
Empire of the Sun This is radically different. It is a "Japan enhanced scenario." Its foundation is RHSCVO - and it has the political points of RHSPPO - but Japanese forces are extensively reworked - mainly with respect to what gets built. There are a few changes to start up programming - like where a unit is stationed or programmed to go. In the form about to release (today) it has experimental ratings for ships (day and night) that are designed to reflect changes in technology and doctrine not built into the stock table or CHS. Many Japanese "mistakes" are corrected, and its Army and Navy are more cooperative. This permits sharing of planes (as was done with Ki-61) in a way not present IRL - so we were able to change the plane set - and add exotic types like Ki-74, Ki-77, C3 (a Kate recon variant) and a Kate ASW variant - a Ki-49 ASW variant - the Me-109E (actually licensed for production in Japan, with jigs and 3 prototypes actually present - along with a German project engineer), the army heavy bomber (Ki-91), a recon variant of Val - etc.

RE: The Magnificent Seven vs. Nemo/Cid - Allied AAR
Yes, but the problems is the turbo-boost that turn 1 implies. Also we are playing an stronger Japan, so we can whine a bit for a restricted turn 1[>:]

RE: The Magnificent Seven vs. Nemo/Cid - Allied AAR
I don't think Nemo/Cid will agree to a historical first turn. We don't need it either. After all, they can hurt us also on turn 2, and 3, and 4
But we should insist on some restrictions. Such as a limit to invasions range.
