Stock 1.804 opponent wanted

Post by Dive Bomber1 »

I'd like to try a "stock" version 1.804 pbem with a Dec 7 historical start. I don't know if anyone plays this way any more, looking at the AARs, but I want to try out what I've been trying against the AI. I'd like to try the player defined air upgrades, no sub "doctrines", and not many other house rules. I'd also like to play the Allies. If anyone is interested, message me.

If you would prefer to play the Allies, I'd like to play a shorter scenario so I can figure out what to do with the Japanese side...

I should be able to play a turn per day, most days, but no guarantees...

Good luck getting a Jap opponent on that.

If you are in no hurry, I could probably take you up on it, but I am afraid I don't have the time to learn the Jap side for the forseeable future. I also am a newbie to PBEM. SGT Swanson sent me some really good stuff for learning and playing the Jap side, but I had to bail on him due to time constraints. (work & school) I could pass it on...

Yeah, I've noticed that most players like to go wild on the start for the Japanese side. But then, I don't see many Allied players doing a lot of non-historical things on their first turns. Why is that? It seems that it would be fun, and fair to let the Allied player try to do as much as possible too.

If you are interested in one of the shorter scenarios I'll try the Japanese - even one of the late scenarios. I just don't think that I'm up to setting up hundreds of invasions at the same time in the December 7 scenario - it would probably take me until Xmas...

The allies don't do much non-historical because if they did, they would get creamed. A shorter one would be fine, but I really can't start until after the weekend due to tests/projects.

I didn't think of that...

Okay, tell you what, I'll spend the next few days trying out the Japanese side, and if I think that I can do something with it I'll let you know by week's end via pm.
