39 here. 1st wargame , thats a tough one as i started very young with airfix kits and home made rules at about 8 if i recall. best computer wargame way back when baggy trousers were popular was probably red storm rising. loved that one, but did stick mainly to table top games and AH board games.

Anyone remember SFB ? [;)] that took a lot of my time from mid teens to about 30 [;)]

We played a lot of Star Fleet Battles. I loved overloaded photon torpedoes.[:)] 50 here by the way
For what we are about to receive, may we be truly thankful.

Outside Putnam. I work 20mi W of Boston.

That is close. Your work most be somewhere near Marlborough?

If you'd ever be interested in some old-fashioned, head-to-head, boardgaming let me know. I think all I have left is ASL & Flat-Top, but those were both classics.
Love to. would require some serious bartering with Wife 1.0...

Well, if you can get her to agree, great! [:)] PBEM is fun, but it's missing something that H2H boardgaming seems to have.

I wouldn't be able to do anything before the holidays, but that would give you some time to negotiate with wife 1.0.

Any preference as to the game? I've played a bunch (especially many/most of the old Avalon Hill titles) and had fun with all of them. Because of WitP I'm particularly interested in the Pacific war right now, so Flat Top would be my choice. But there's probably a couple dozen games I'd be happy to play.

just turned 29 for the 7th time whoo hoo!

first wargame: GG's "Carrier Force"

Saw it almost by accident during a visit to the computer store. Father had to pry
fingers off box before leaving. Several weeks of paperboy money later it was
back in my hot little hands.

many many hours of staring at TV screen followed. [:D]

I had a gaming pal in the late '70's and early '80's whose wife would bring us beers and cook us meals while we would spend the most part of a weekend gaming. It happened on average one weekend a month. Those were the days...In '84 his company moved him to Wisconsin or Minnesota and I've been unable to track him down since...

His wife probably murdered him by pouring counters down his throat and replacing his eyeballs with dice and he's now mouldering in the ground in the deep woods up there.....

Sing to the tune of "Man on the Flying Trapeze"
..Oh! We fly o'er the treetops with inches to spare,
There's smoke in the cockpit and gray in my hair.
The tracers look fine as a strafin' we go.
But, brother, we're TOO God damn low...

39 yrs here. Started with Squad Leader tabletop game and with C-64 comp games. I think first C-64 games were Knights of the Desert and a Normandy invasion game of same genre.
