I retract this statement. I talked to Nemo and asked him how much he knows about the Soviet OoB, so that I could 'match' my level of knowledge about Japanese troops in Mandchukuo with his about the SU. He said he knew nothing, wouldn't look at the scenario files, and rely only on his recon planes before an attack. So I won't look either.ORIGINAL: VSWG
I intent to have a close look at the Japanese OoB in Mandchuria. I'm 99 % sure Nemo knows every detail of the Allied OoB, and cid... well, he's the creator of the mod.

Chuck's theory on how not to supply Chungking:
3. In the first hex on the road Kweiyang-Chungking put two divisions. I suspect they will draw on the limited supply in Kweiyang before Chungking does. They might even draw supply from Chungking on occassion.
Damn, now the bragging rights go to ctangus! [:@]

OK, two comments! [;)] Here's another trick I learned from irrelevant:
So if you got some LCUs at the West Coast that need to fill out, but are needed at the front: you can have your cake and eat it too!! [8D]I just stumbled on a way to both deploy these units on the front lines right away where their aviation support is much needed, and at the same time leave them in the Home Islands where they will most rapidly fill out with additional general support and SNLF squads.
Load the Base Force onto a few APs. Once the BF is fully loaded, find the AP with the main part of the unit. Form this single AP into a different TF, then unload it back onto the base it came from. Set this part to accept replacements. Send the rest of the unit (which will have a greater or lesser portion of the unit, depending on how many APs you loaded it onto to begin with) off to wherever, while the main portion stays in the Home Islands, accruing support and SNLF squads.
Seems to me that once the smaller fragments get to their destination, they will be larger than the parent and therefore a 'switch' in the unit parent will occur. This happens during air transport, for example. If you want this trick to work you will have to make sure that you leave more than 50% of the unit at home.

Correct me if I am wrong - 50% of SUPPORT (so not all devces counts) devices must stay at home.

No idea about that. What about units that have no support?

OMG, Nemo and Cid are posting like maniacs in their thread! [:D] Let me guess: they are "discussing" who has supreme authority over the Malaya landings?
Regarding the fragments: I dunno, I couldn't test it in my own PBEM so far. But the largest fragment DOES become the parent unit, so maybe irrelevant didn't test it himself? Anyway, I will look into it.

RE: The Magnificent Seven vs. Nemo/Cid - Allied AAR
Well, I have made a test. With my subs at Manila I can lift a British Bde in two sealifts (three if you want all the support). At start I want to use my "fleet" subs to mine everything landable in the Philiphines (Manila is a port 9), but in case of an aggresive Japanese landing, I could divert my subs to a "evacuation" mission.
CW Bdes in Malaya are valuable if they are evacuated "en masse", because of the low value of replacements. ANZAC and Indian BDEs doesnt share this problem.
BTW, how we are going to organize giving orders in our turn ?

Just for the record: Cid just revealed in the Tag Team Thread that - in his opinion - of course the Allied players are free to move each and every ship on the map on turn 1! Why would we think otherwise?! [:D]

Well that is good news is it[:D] As for Kuching if they would not land there on turn one Force Z and ABDA TF's can do a lot of damage to the Japs...[:D] Any way's if you are winthrawing forces from Malaya i would like my Aussie Brigades shiped to Timor or Darwin toghether with Aussie and NZ plane squadrons[:D]

We have to start organizing things. First logistics [:'(]
How many oil/resources will need each theather to maintain the output of their heavy industries.
I need a monthly allocation, thus I can organize the shipping and the convoys from day 1

Blitzk,
scroll up hand have a look at the tables again. The info is already there: "Oil balance" and "Resource balance".

Yes, but for example in India you do not include Aden as a source of both oil and resources.
1400 Oil daily for Aden, so India has a surplus of Oil at start.
Oz and Nz have a deficit of Oil. NZ with one tanker monthly will suffice. Oz will need at least 4. And Comrade Stalin will need at least 2, if he wants capitalist things [;)]

RE: The Magnificent Seven vs. Nemo/Cid - Allied AAR
looks like russian player will have to negotiate safe passage for 2 allied tankers -as soviet don't have any to soviet ports - interesting
my oil surplus as UK is very narrow - i have many surplus resources
monthly supplies is somehere at 280k but 40k is needed for india and burma combat troops +50 for supply sinks it is 90k
some units are below max strenght so they will need few thousand supplies - ap 100k is needed in peace duty
add engeneering work + planes - difficult to say - probably 20-30k per month and we have 120-130k needs and assume combat troops are in combat + 40k minimum = 170k . burma road drains 15k per month it is 185k - almost 200k should be calculated as my needs
it means that i have 50k+ positive supplies balance and i can shift it to dei/OZ
RN can cover this
but during game i will get more and more troops so my supply surplus will go lower and lower and after 42 I expect OZ to be supplied solely from US

Hey USN. We need to have a discussion about US assets and where we are going to try to defend and what we are going to let go without a fight.
I also need to know what kind of PP's I can allocate to getting usffe airgroups out of the PI once it becomes untenable to stay any further.
I would like to discuss your view on where you think MY army forces need to go. I would like to run a few ideas past you on where I think YOUR ships should go [:)]

Well, my short term PP priorities are 0 PPs. We get 1000 PPs daily, so even if I have 500 PPs my priority is very low.
My plan is to execute War Plan Orange, as USN has trained to do the last 10 years [8|]
Basically I want to maintain the sealanes open to Australia, and reinforce all the islands so if the evil Japanese empire want to take it, need to bring a multidivisional assault with heavy support.
First priority is the Hawaian islands. As a compromise I propose to move 2nd USMC to Oahu to free the 24th and 25th for garrison the other HI islands. See my proposal of deployment on post nº 78 on this thread

i have no short term PPs needs
only need are B-17 from PI when their time come and Southeast asia P40 from West coast
some fighters from PI would be welcome 2
i expect to have my pilot pool empty after malaya campaign and i get hurricanes in late jan 42
+ 2-3 subs from manila to evac cadres
all depends on where i see landing sites in malaya

RE: The Magnificent Seven vs. Nemo/Cid - Allied AAR
I bet dollars against nuts it will be either Mersing or Johore Bharu. Probably the second one. With supply sink in Kuala Lumpur Nemo wouldn't like to go through all peninsula. And he did this in his other games.
Also watch your other supply sinks, Nemo wrote some time ago that his method of defeating them would be sending first small infantry unit then waiting till supply level drops due to resource production stop when enemy units in a hex and then walking through them later with real forces. Palembang comes on my mind as a possible invasion site on turn 1.
