Game Crashes Immediately

Game appeared to install fine. Went in, set up a Total War campaign as Germany, with slight modifications to prefs (Fog of War enabled, etc.) Immediately upon launch, I see North America for a second, with a small text block about setting map scroll speed or some such, then a complete crash to desktop. I tried to launch two other times and same result. I have a P4 2G, 1G RAM, GeForce4 Ti with latest Nvidia drivers, DirectX 9.c. Any ideas?

And by the way, is the game set to display in windowed mode by default? Mine booted that way and it seemed sort of odd.

Yes, windowed mode is default in AWD.

Did you try to set the graphics level down and/or use full screen mode? Just to see if it helps.

Yes, full screen crashes as well. Dropping graphics level didn't matter either.

Better prepare a dxdiag file right now, I guess the devs will ask for it anyway. [:)]
