Congrats Warrant Officer. I am still getting beat up in the Prippet Marshes. The game started out easy until I hit the hordes of Cossacks and muddy swamps. I finished Watchtower a while back. As Alby said, expect hordes of Japanese who never quite until the last man. It is a whole different kind of war without many tanks or other armored vehicles to rely upon. I wasn't used to the kind of warfare at first, but got into it as I went along. Read a book on the Canal as I was playing to get the historical view of what the battle was like. The people who made the scenarios did an excellent job of recreating what happened in that hell hole. I enjoyed the game very much!

That's great, WarrantOfficer. I can testify to the quality of our Japanese adversaries.

However, I strongly suggest trying out "Screaming Eagles". This was the last of the megas, and arguably the toughest. The creme de la creme designed those scenarios, and the documentation is superb. Of course, I'm a little prejudiced towards that one, as I contributed in a small way to it. [;)]

Honestly, though, all of the megas were designed to teach some history as well as provide an excellent gaming experience. That was why I finagled my way into the project -- it was something truly meaningful and educational. I got to know some of the guys behind the scenes, and their dedication shows through. It was indeed an honor to be associated with them. [&o]

Thanks for the advice all. I hit Red beach yesterday & got a moderate victory. Now i'm moving to take the airstrip.
Screaming Eagles is in the pipeline, just haven't got to it yet.
Too many games, not enough time.....
