Coming in new v1.13 Update!

A brand new campaign-based 3D tactical engine covering combat in World War II, from the developers at Koios Works. The first operation covered is the famous "Wintergewitter" or Winter Storm, a desperate attempt by Hoth's 57th Panzer Korps to break through to the encircled 6th Armee at Stalingrad and the Soviet counter-attack by 2nd Guards Army that drove them back.

Coming in new v1.13 Update!

Post by Erik Rutins »

Hi everyone,

Panzer Command: Operation Winter Storm will be showing up in retail stores within a week or so and we're about to release a new update and a new demo to coincide with that event.

For those of you who already own Panzer Command, here's what the v1.13 update has in store. We've not only fixed some additional bugs that turned up in our continuing testing, but we've added some nice and often-requested features as well.

In other news, work on the next release in the Panzer Command series continues apace and we expect to post a preview for you soon with some exciting new screenshots and possibly a video.

Thanks again for your support of Panzer Command!

*** v1.13 - October 18, 2006 ***

Tutorial and Tutorial Guide:
-----

This release includes a new Tutorial scenario, which is a simplified excerpt of Winterstorm D-Day. It also includes a 22 page Tutorial Guide to go along with that scenario and help introduce new players to Panzer Command as an intermediate step before reading the full game manual.

Fixes and Changes:
-----

1. Fixed a bug that could cause the simulation time to overlap playback time causing a crash to desktop in rare instances.

2. Fixed a bug where unit would not cancel targeting after running out of ammo if using area effect fire (targeting a mapspace)

3. Fixed a bug where facing during setup might not face correctly for units on steep elevations

4. Fixed a bug where a colliding unit could bounce between 2 stationary blocking units trying to find a new path and slow down simulation time while it tried to find a valid path.

5. Fixed a bug which was giving infantry too great a close assault ability. Infantry now have a lesser chance of successful close assault against AFV's

6. Fixed a bug where small vehicles were not having their chance to be stunned from a hit increased.

7. Fixed a bug that could sometimes cause off-board artillery to run out of ammo

8. Fixed a bug that was making high end variable penetration results (i.e. critical hits) slightly more frequent

Improvements:
-----

1. New hotkey "I" will toggle a unit icon over units (No Icons/Show Unit Side/Show Unit Type). the default is 'show unit type'. These should help make units easier to find, even when they are deep in woods or near the horizon.

2. The maximum distance for placing units during setup has been increased from 100 meters to 250 meters as long as new location does not move the unit too close to existing enemy start positions.

3. The player can now review the battlefield after the battle is complete (review button on end of battle screen). All fog of war will be turned off during review. Press the 'play' button from the HUD to return to end of battle screen.

4. Improved the performance (speed) of simulation processing time

5. Improved the program shutdown process

thanks for making the improvements.  Is the review battlefield at the end kind of like watching a movie of the entire battle?  That could be fun to watch and share etc.  Thanks
