Printing roster and box scores, etc.

Post by rcleslie »

This is an old issue and one that many of you, I think, have overcome. I still wallow in ignorance! I do not know how to print rosters or game box scores. I do not have Excell(sp?) or Access. I do have Corel's Quattro Pro (I have never used it) and do not wish to spend more money. Where do I find the files in the first place? Is there any possibility that a future version of MaxFB might include a print feature for rosters, box scores, and season stats, etc.?

The in-game box scores are only generated for league games. They're plain text files stored in the gamelogs folder. You can open them in notepad and print them.

Adding more printing to the game is something I can look at.

I thought that Excel and Word were included in Windows. I could be wrong, but I've never shelled out for extra software from Microsoft, and I've ALWAYS had those two programs onboard.

Double-check, rcleslie, hit 'Run' from the start menu, and type 'excel'. I bet you'll find it's there.

It depends on where he purchased his computer. It you buy a stock version of WindowsXP, it does not come with any MS Office software. The closest it gets is WordPad which can read word document files (although it drops a lot of the formatting).

The suggested 'open office' may work. I've not tried it.

As I said, I'll see about adding some more printing functions to the game or utilities.

To all,

Thx for the suggestions. My Windows XP came with a trial version of MS Excel that expired end of May '06. I can convert to a working version, but would have to pay. I chose to get the Corel package since it was half the price of the MS one. I will look in gamelogs for the box scores of league games. I will also try Open Office. Where, by the way, are the rosters filed? An easy way to print would be a very welcome addition. Again, thx to all.
