Public Beta Release 3 observations

Post by Deft »

I have been messing around with the new release and I have some observations. If you do not have this game please do not hijack this thread.

These were my issues from the previous release:
Here are some of my gotta fixes-

break the huddle defense lineup issue FIXED
defenders with run rush or pass rush that stand there when its the opposite call FIXED
defenders still overplay the primary WRs and underplay secondary receivers, TEs, and RBs New defensive scheme really helps here
snapping the ball before the MIM reaches his destination haven't checked this one
the discrepency between the PDS location and the in-game location FIXED w/ NEW PDS
short passes and timing between QBs and receivers STILL AN ISSUE

Here are some of my like to fix-

Make lob passes have higher trajectory OPEN
Give the option for different special teams calls in the offense and defensive profile OPEN
Add onside kick logic OPEN

I am very pleased David has spent the majority of his time working on the core of the in-game portion of MaxFB because all else follows. Before any additional enhancements are done I think the logic expansion, playbook handling, and in-game glitches should be addressed.

Current observations:
short passes and timing between QBs and receivers Any passes that have the receiver moving in a crossing pattern is near impossible to complete as QBs have a hard time hitting a receiver in stride. This has been there ever since launch and severely limits playbook designs for short slants, drags, and crossing patterns.

Handoff logic Handoffs are still only HB, FB, and RB3 (?). This eliminates flea flickers and reverses. This would be a nice addition. Also handoffs can produce AI busters because the handoff is almost guaranteed to be successful so a FB that is five yards downfield can get a handoff from a QB in the backfield with no issues. Not a big deal because it can be avoided but something that would make handoffs and pitches more life-like.

Special Teams What would be nice is kick offs like timed passes. Have a location put where you would like to have the kick off. Make it Kick Off logic (normal, squib, pop up, or onsides). This would allow for cover right, cover left, short pop up, onside, or squib). Punts are kicked to quickly as there is a 0% of a blocked punt. I have tried to add delays in the punters logic with no success.

Overall: The game has made more strides and I am looking forward to starting our first season in the Major League Football online league.
