Slightly OT - Real Aircraft from the Game

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Below is a link to a site where the famous collection of colour slides from the ETO owned by the late Jeffery Ethell is being digitised. There are some real gems here.

I just have to ask...............did this guy colloect these pics or did he take them himself? And if he took them himself was he on the government payroll at the time? I just have a bit of a beef about people making money on these things when in all likelyhood there were taken and payed for by tax dollars. *End of rant mode* Apart from that there are some nice pics there.

the name of hte photographer is given for each pic, so they are clearly not all taken by hime.  Some are "official" US photos even.

A look at the "about" link provides the story of how these were collected - mostly from individual amateur colour photographers.  It doesn't say specifically that permission was given to use them, but it seems a likely conclusion.
