House Rules and Hints 'update'

Post by davewolf »

Hi folks

Some people always had problems reading the House Rules. So I converted it to HTML and added some fine hints by Jon Pyle. Here http://www.davescorner.de/games/wir/rules/rules_en.html is the result.

Thanks Dave for posting some of my hints. When I sent them to Steve they were just some "basic hints", pertaining to our games played. How do I go about adding to those hints?

Reading your comments I thought they could be helpfull for a lot of people. And by the way I know you'd be good enough to hurt me (i.e. in our '42 game) even if you'd publish much more hints of those kind. :D

You didn't answer my question. How do I add to, or edit it. Do you just want me to e-mail you other gems...Then you'll know now, how I double enveloped Moscow, fully supplied, and reduced it by the end of September 41, in our game... Remember the Soviets won the battle for Moscow in Aug-Sept at Kiev.

Sorry, I just didn't get this point. Anyway as mentioned in the FAQ thread everyone can add topics themselves. All you have to do is download the HTML file and edit it. Of course you should know a bit about HTML but it's not that much in that case. It's almost only text, just a few formatting tags (orders for browsers). If it should be desired I can make a short tutorial about that, just enough that everybody would be able to edit the Rules and FAQ pages.

Of course I want more 'gems'... ;)

Ok, it's on my issue list :-)
Do you have problems sending a game manually (without a PBEM client)? There was a good help on that from Loki in a different thread. I'll add that to the FAQ soon. Hope it will help.

You zip the 3 save files and send them as an attachment.

I'll handle your OKH plan like this.

"History teaches us that no plan survives contact with the enemy" :p

Consider Phlebas, who was once handsome and tall as you.
