Units sticking

Post by Twotribes »

I dont have a save before and after, I was busy playing and just lived with it, assuming it would clear up in February.

I railed a few brigade garrisons from the NE to the province around Annapolis. And I sent by rail Division containers from Annapolis to the province above Philadelphia.....

The Brigades would stop at the Deleware river just north and west of Dover. I would the next turn reiisue train movement orders and they would remain stuck. I tried sending them into Peensylvania also and they would be stuck at the river the next turn ( after using up my rail capacity for no reason.

I assumed it had something to do with winter and just kept trying to move them... In February they remained stuck until I gave them orders to Ohio and deep into pennsylvania.

The Division container would not actually make the move from Annapolis to Penn, every turn it was back in Annapolis. Again late february I finally sent it to Ohio and it stuck.

If it happens again and I am not half zombie from having played for 24 hours straight I will save before and after and send it on its merry way.

It only happened in one game out of 3 by the way.

Along the same lines....

I tried to move an army against the fort ( Fort Henry I believe) below Cairo. It requires you to move onto the river of course. The problem being that 5 out of 6 turns when I moved on to the river at the next turn I was not on the river anymore. You can not siege the Fort unless you are on the river.

A minor annoynace also, but just a graphics glitch... sometimes when you move there it graphicly shows you all the way down the river in the next land province ( it redraws eventually) And with the Gunboats it is nearly imppossible to get next to that fort. It took 7 turns of trying before I got the boats to move adjacent, the other turns it simply would NOT offer me a move path there ( and I dont mean below the fort.)

And.... some provinces when you try to move by rail to them it simply will not offer you a move path, No enemy blocks you, the entire path is through clear Union controlled areas. The two that come to mind are the province just north of Cairo and the annapolis province ( that one is more a problem with once you get a mess of units there, you cant find a clear space to click for the move without hitting a unit, which disables the move and highlights the new unit.)

And a final note, invariably if there are two paths for rail movement from point A to point B the program picks the longer of the two paths.
Favoritism is alive and well here.
