Long Campaigns vs Soviets

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

Long Campaigns vs Soviets

Post by Dragoon 45 »

I have lately been playing the long campaign Germans vs Soviets and have found a couple of strange things the computer seems to like buying. I don't understand why it buys a least two companies of KV-2's per battle in 42/43 and also buys hordes of ZIS-30's. I have fought a few 42 battles where there was not a single T-34 on the battlefield. It just seems that the AI is a little off when buying for the long campaign in 42/43.

what version???
here is one formation in Enhanced that may be the culprit for the KV2s
looks like one of those Hvy Tank Plts needs replaced by 'regular' tank platoon

I have similar experiences against the Soviets in Long Campaign. They also use to buy separate rifle platoons instead of full companies.

They should be using this formation....a lot of this depends on the amount of purchase points used also guys.
We have no way to tell which formations get purchased over the others when purchase points come into play.

SEE alby these kind of screenshots of the inner workings of making changes to SPWAW scare the crap out of me more than a bad Arrty plot board. It also concerns me that theres still a few AI sellection tables quibbles with ENHANCED FV ??

It just takes a little time to get accustomed to the data layouts, Riun. I started doing that several years ago. However, given that my real job is as a tax auditor, I look at data tables/tax forms 5 days a week. So, I guess I was predisposed to become an OOB geek. [8|]
