This is the situation as it stands with about 24 hours left to go in the scenario.
II/3 Pzr and II/304 Schützen are knocking at the door in Tirnavos. I usually combine these units into one (giving them the same orders), hoping that by doing this, the coding will allow for better support and combined arms work than I could provide if I were to "run" the battalions myself, seperately. However, I do take care to send the armored Bn around towns whenever possible...preferring to keep them out of stone's throw range from the outskirts unless necessary (stone's throw range: the approximate range of the primitive, but possibly effective, PIAT...probably the miserable anti tank weapon most of these New Zealander's are running around with).
Recon 5 Bn supporting the approach to the most important victory essential locations west of the town.
The GJ company is getting hammered, and I don't think they will be able to hold the road much longer.
My only serious concern at the moment is wondering what kind of effect leaving that allied battalion sitting on my supply line south of Elasson will have on my supply situation for the II/3 and II/304. The regimental supply base is still sitting just north of Elasson, and I don't trust myself to pack it up and move it south...just yet. However, that MAY have to be remedied...as well as advancing the II/2 on the allied Bn sitting SW of Elasson to get it out of the way.
Do I have enough force in the south to hammer my way through to Larissa before time expires?
Unfortunately, my partner had to break there...and this story will be continued within the next few days. Hopefully with an Axis victory.
