Its more than map scroll freezing - frozen blue movement lines

Post by Adam Parker »

Ok, I've just loaded the game onto a brand spanking new laptop with a gig of ram, 128meg video and the scrolling freeze occured immediately on turn 1 of the standard campaign as the CSA, using basic rules, generals on, fog of war on.

I right-clicked on big stack of CSA units in Virginia and no scrolling after that.

Not only does scrolling freeze on both my systems now but the blue movement line of the unit I previously left-clicked does not disappear, nor do any further blue lines show.

As a test I clicked end turn and let the Union's turn run. It did so and on the new CSA turn map scrolling was still frozen and the blue movement line from the past turn was still there too.

Do other people with frozen map scrolling also see unremovable blue movement lines from previously selected units?

***Could this error be the result of "illegal" clicking? ie: I had a CSA stack of generals already left clicked and was trying to get them into the CSA big stack. So I right clicked that and on that the scrolling froze with the general's blue line remaining frozen too.***

I'm thinking the exact thing. I noticed that the bug occured when I had a container opened and instead of closing it properly, I clicked on another stack. If I closed out properly, there was no bug for the rest of the game (2-3hrs)

*Update* this is definitly the problem for me. Just ran a bunch of tests.
When you right click to open a container, notice you cannot scroll. So if you don't close out and instead click on another container, the scroll is still locked. Hope this helps. I'd prefer if you could scroll while a container was open [;)]

Just so everything isn't roses, the siege crash ruined another great game [:@]

I can recreate the scrolling freeze in that exact same way: Right-click Generals in James, Virginia and right-click on Army of N. Virginia without closing General container. Instant freeze.

So, always close one container before clicking another.

That's not the only way the scroll freeze occurs - I've seen it unrelated to containers - but it definitely is one way to recreate the problem.
