Hi people!

Kingtiger 501 and I are to begin a 43 campaign. He will play with the rogue soviets[:'(]. We think to do a write up of our game for those interested. Sure it will be a hot challenge!

Really I find the 43 campaign the most strategic and balanced scenario WIR have. I strongly recommended to players dont played before. As Germany you must take a look every turn to the other fronts, sending units from the east to the west and vice versa. As soviet you are under of command of a great army and a new VVS force to defeat the axis powers. Emotions guaranteed! Ah, please not to be too much hard with my english. A little help from Kingtiger is welcome[:)]

- Summer 1943 -

The air is deep and cold in the wolfschanze even the summer... Hitler finnaly agrees and the Kursk offensive will be cancelled. General Feld Marshal Von Manstein get from our Fuhrer another compromise. Manstein solution will be executed... The Ukraine has been evacuated in order to get divisions to reinforce other sectors. A mobile defense is placed in the South...

A preventive air attacks from Luftwaffe against VVS airfields has been maked. Still not confirmed but pilots talk around more than 1000 planes destroyed. We have around 450 planes destroyed or damaged by effect of AA or soviet CAP.

The history will judge us...

My exp commanding the Soviet forces and playing the 43 camp is close to nil, so this will be a very intresting game.

The German 43 summer offensive has started with a major air attack that has considerable reduced Soviet air strength. The massive amounts of Soviet armies in the Kursk salient must of been spotted as a major German retreat is under way. Reports from our advancing armies is that the Germans have abandoned heavy weapons in there hastey retreat. This retreat looks like turning into a large scale rout or a well planned ambush.

The Russian front is very quiet...

The southern army advances slowly towards the west

Velikiye Luki is starting to heat up with 2 attacks launched this week. 1st attack north of the city retreated the defenders but the 2nd attack to the south failed due to poor co-ordination. A pz korps has been moved up to this area...

In the north....a few attacks have been launched to probe the German defenders

Its great to hear from you again. I hope all is well with you and your family. My troops are advancing with alot of caution in the south. I expect to be taught a lesson in mobile warfare in this sector.

Yeah, I have twins,and my daughter eats awfully but apart from that we are fine. Soon I might start a wir game again but at a slower pace. I dont think you or josan will get schooled about anything:) Both of you beat the crap out of me if I remember right:)

German turn 3 : 7/19/1943

The Luftwaffe are striking the soviet lines along the front. We change losses in planes for soviets AFV´s and squads. Im not sure if will work but we are trying to weak the soviet advance.

One probing attack failed around Velikiye Luki. Also we spotted a soviet tank army near to this city, surely to try a breakthrough over our defences, so the High Command has ordered to send reinforcements to this area.

In the sector of Bryansk-Gomel, we are defending behind the river but 4 Pz Korps begin to move and make offensive operations against advancing soviets armies. One tank army surrendered to the German Army with 340 tanks in it [8D]

German Turn 4 : 7 /26 / 1943.

Oh, well, it seems we just awaken the Russian Bear. The soviets attack a lot this week!!! The german lines held well but with a high cost of men and weapons... not very sure if we can affort this rate of losses...

The OKH have ordered AGN to maintain defensive positions to expected soviet attacks.

In the sector of Velikiye Luki we repulsed the attacks with losses but trying profit of that, with the reinforcements the High Command dispatched last week, a counterattack has been made retreating a couple of armies and isolating the city of Velikiye Luki by land...

In the Bryansk-Gomel sector the Pz korps retreated behind the river looking for cover. Just for the strong soviet armies advancing... However, an attack of panzer forces placed around Kharkov, surrendered one soviet army with more of 800 squads. Some Cross of Iron medals has been sent to the SS Pz Korps, and specially to the SS Totenkopf, that it was in charge of the offensive... and the prisoners[:@]

This week my forces have been stopped in there tracks. The defenders of Velikiye Luki have bandoned the city and many Pz korps have been spotted in this area.

German Turn 5 : 2 / 8 /1943

This was a relative quiet week. The soviets stopped their all out attacks and not advanced in the South. For the moment...

For our part we take this time to rest and reffit and only a couple of attacks has been made. One around Velikiye Luki (that is in german hands) and other in Kharkov that resulted in retreats.

The Luftwaffe are still striking the soviet forces.

Fortunaly Hitler was in charge of all[:)] I dont want to think if Guderian or Von Manstein were the Supreme Comanders [X(]
