Hey folks...

I've added TWO things to the archive at FBMAX. Please read this entire post.

After much tinkering and such, I've uploaded my "Canadian 1" playbook to FBMAX. It's in the unsorted section. I want to stress this to all who download it and play with it: I'm not 100% happy with it. I'd like to toy and play with it some more before posting it, but I know I'd never be totally be happy with it, so... Anyways, it's a 12-man, 3 Down, Outdoor playbook featuring six offensive and four defensive formations. No new special Teams plays have been added.

The offense, I like. There's not much wrong with the offense, but I still can't get the defense to respond as well as I had hoped. So tinker away at it, and if there's a defensive guru out there who can make it work, knock yourself out. Let me know in fact, as I would hope that "Canadian 1" will be a living document that the Maximum Football Community can mess around with to make better. So, officially, Canadian 1 playbook by Brockleigh is 'Copyleft 2006'.

Okay, so I guess, I should offer some release notes:

With Offensive Plays, I believe I have the Line Gaps numbered backwards, so the odd numbered holes are on the RIGHT SIDE and the even ones are on the LEFT. Pass plays are named after the nicknames of the 50 States (y'know, the SUNSHINE state, the HOOSIER state, etc.), but there is no standard naming convention for them. No pass play name has been used twice in different formations.

Defensive plays DO have a naming convention, which goes as such:
BEAR - contain the run
FOX - Run stopper.
BADGER - Drop Zone
TIGER - Full Blitz
WOLF - Short Zone
EAGLE - Run defense with Man coverage
COUGAR - Line Stunts, man coverage
RHINO - Linebacker Blitz Inside
DRAGON - Double Line Stunts, Zone Coverage
ROVER - Rotated Zone Coverage
OCELOT - Zone Blitz
COYOTE - Cover 3
COBRA - Cornerback Blitz

Short Yardage offense (SY) and Short Yardage Defense (SYD) are INCOMPLETE. Please keep this in mind.

As well, as per the request of a couple people over the past couple of days, I have uploaded as well the 2006 CFL Rosters to FBMAX.com that I created this year. NOTE: Maximum Football does not support this feature. David Winter has explicitly stated on this forum that importing rosters from one league into another is not something the game is currently designed to do, so if you can't get it to work, he can't help you, and neither can Marauders or anyone else from Matrix.

If you get them to import properly, hell, let ME know, because I haven't been successful with it either.

Thanks to Deltadog, who pointed out to me that the Playbook File was missing. Apparently, I only uploaded the Plays themselves. My bad, but it's been fixed.

The full playbook is now entitled Playbook Export Canadian 1.zip in the Unsorted files.

I'm also currently resubmitting the CFL Rosters, as I did not include the League Database to go along with the exported teams. The Team folders are too large to send in one Zip file, so the Database is in CFL2006a.zip, and the Team folders are in CFL2006b.zip.

Let me know if there are any other issues.
