Submarine in Quick Battle

Post by wzh55 »

Has anyone else seen this? When conducting a "quick battle" (on land), when the screen first comes up, something about submarines or such flashes across the bottom of the quick battle screen. Does not seen to cause any problems, just kinda odd. Awaiting the patch for siege problems. Today? Tomorrow? Put it on the wish list? Thanks.[X(]

An upgrade to the Union Army?

In a land locked province?

I have seen it many times, do not know the effect os I do not know how serious it is.

Please explain how this makes sense.

In encircled ground, devise strategems;
In death ground, fight."

Was it really happening in a land locked province in a land battle?  I'm surprised this hasn't been reported and will take a look at the code.

It appears that once the Union gets teh upgrade it is relevant for all combat.

Would you like a save?

Where do it send it?

I don't think a save is necessary, I'll take a look at the code.

Eric, you need to work on your p.r. instincts: instead of hinting that this might be a bug, why not proudly announce that landgoing submarines are an Easter Egg inspired from some Turtledove novel?

Thanks for the quick patch. Maybe in next (?) patch, you can check the submarine upgrade showing up in land battles during "Quick Battles", at least for the confederates. I have the message flash by during the start of each quick battle.
Also, is there anyway to undo a building build on the city detail screen?

if on the same turn you made the mistake, exit the screen and then hit backspace, if the build order was the last thing done, it should "backup" and remove it

the backspace can also be used to undo other orders

(for builds, you need to go back to the map before it works)

I'll see about catching the undo keys on the advisor subscreens too, that might be possible.
