Well,
Jumped right into the advance game as CSA having only read through basic game in the rules.
Have needed to refer back to the rules to get a cluse as to how things are done.I saw in Gil&J's AAR.riflrpits for Ft.Henry, took me diving back into the rules to figureout how to do it.
Assigning generals to Divisions and Corps.....back to the rulesand some shuffling.
Weapons upgrades for units........crap i don't have any money for Lorenzes even though right now they are avaliable!
My blockade runners..nuts only 2 and only 2 lousy pickups of weapons, horses and money.Great 80% chance of success and 40% chance of damage!
Ok.now i start writing down my changes/things to do for CSA on turn#1......I still need cash for a camp? Diplomacy? probably 10 each to G.B/FR/and Europe.........need to increase my RR poits as well.....Ooops,forgot to reduce army supply level!

Basically, still figuringout how to play effectively against the computer(2nd Lt.level).Give me a week.

I haven't quite got the game yet. Waiting for my payment to get out of "In Review" (Sheesh been like 5 hours [:@]).

I'd love to do a PBEM after I read the manual, though. [:)]

I will be looking forward to doing some PBEM games...  This will be my first game that I have done that with - other than chess.  So should be fun.  UNfortunately have to wait for Xmas...

Will look to play PBEM as soon as I get back to "working from home" at the moment I am away from home a lot and would be on a 1 turn a week ratio. Also need to get the seige patch first.
If anyone wants to start a 1 turn a week game in the run up to the patch do let me know though, I'm guessing the patch will be out before the seige problem hits.

What is this siege bug being talked about.  I am currently in late 63 as the Union and have conducted several sieges on CSA forts and cities and I have not encountered this bug or had the game crash? [&:]

There are about 3 different threads on the forum that mention the bug.  I think it occurs several ways from what I have seen, but usually when the message with the results of a siege are up on the screen the game crashes, if you load the game back up and are in the same situation the game will always crash with the siege message.  It doesnt happen with all sieges, it seems to be random, can happen with the first or the 10th.  But until there is a patch its no use starting a PBEM game since there is a good chance it will crash at some point.

That said, it sounds like the patch should be out fairly soon, and since it would take several turns for a PBEM game to get to a point were sieges take place, I guess a game could be started and played to a point of sieges beginning, and hope the patch comes out in the meantime.

It looks like the patch will be save-compatible, so it might work.

Just tried to get a screen shot of the setting that I would propose for a PBEM game, but cant remmeber how to get the SS into Paint SHop from the clip board.  Basicaly I thiniking Advanced game, both sides set to zeor power, fast sieges, no disease with almost everything else on.

I could probably do at least one turn per day if anyone is interested.

I think I'm ready to try a PBEM game. I've been playing solo long enough....ready for a real challenge now.

Excellent guys hope you have fun in your game.  I've got my hands fun with JonReb but maybe able to start another game if you two dont get together.  I would be so enjoyed if you guys would post an After action report of your turns.  It's really not that hard and only takes me 10 minutes after I email my turn off.  Take the screenshots during my turn, write a little sentence in word and copy and past the sentence and the link to the picture into my thread.  [:D]
